Error Applying Update (HF-5)

Can launch Overwatch no worries, when I attempt to join any game whatsoever it gets stuck on “Applying Update” for roughly a minute before “Unknown Error (HF-5)” comes up and logs me out.

I have tried quite literally everything I could find across several forum pages and nothing has worked.
I have enough storage, there is no firewall blocking the update, I flushed my DNS, reset my router, restarted my PC.
Deleted multiple cache folders for overwatch and battle.net. Scanned and repaired multiple times. Re-downloaded the game and nothing has worked

I would also like help, I’m having an identical issue. Game was working without any issues whatsoever thru yesterday. Today I tried to play and the exact same issue as above happened. I’ve also tried everything recommended including scan and repair, re-installing the game, etc. Nothing is working. I also get (HF-) but the number changes. Send help!

You may have either a security app blocking the install, or your partial download is corrupted. You may have to remove the files downloaded so far and start over.

Is there something I need to do to remove the files beyond “Uninstall and remove files” from the client?
