Every time the game finds a match, I don’t get into it, but I get that error
I can’t play. Yesterday (september 19) I had the same problem, but I closed the game, restarted and that fixed, but today (september 20) I can’t play.
I restarted the game, I have deleted the tools folder, updated drivers, reinstalled and nothing works.
And this problem started with patch 1.40

GUYS!!
I fixed this bug, but I don’t know if this will work for others
When you open battle net you have to scan and repair in the settings options. You wait maybe 15 minutes or less.
**Then press search for updates and in the same settings options you can see a count like 52, 51, 50, etc. You have to wait 0 and start the game. **
I did this and I could play.
IM NOT SAYING THIS IS THE SOLUTION, IT IS SOMETHING THAT WORKED FOR ME

This issue is indeed not happening for everyone and is related to some issues within files, this has fixed it for me but on another gaming station of mine i did not encounter any issues at all.
This should be the fix then

Yeah. I don’t know the reason for this “bug” but I’ve tried everything and this works for me.
Blizzard hasn’t said anything about it or provided a solution yet
i have done this suggested thing but it didnt work maybe its not a total fix
No, it’s not a total fix. I did this and worked for me, but we have to know the real problem for this bug or Blizzard should talk about it.
I’m having the same issue…

having the same thing over here.
Maggie fix steps above worked for me. Thanks
And to be clear you click on Overwatch icon then on the right under the logo you will see options. There you can scan and repair. For me update happen automatically after scan.
Actually played one game and the error returned.
Grouped up with a friend do some comp play. The game said that I was joining the match, but the map never loaded. He was able to join to the match, but I was unable to join… Even from the main menu, when I clicked “rejoin match” nothing happened. i then got an error and was then banned from comp play for no reason of my own fault.
In general, the game seems more “buggy”. We also noticed that user status, ie what that user is doing is not properly updated. A friends status will say that they are ingame, but the user has been logged in for hours.

Yes,I have to scan and repair, as well as update, every time I open the battle net to play.
I am someone who plays competitive play every day. Now due to this error I am suspended from ranked play for 30 more minutes. I am being penalized for something that’s not my fault. Give me my SR back.
