From what I understand the first two ranks are progression based, than after that its MMR based. So sounds like you can’t fall beneath gold(which ever rank that is in stadium) in the new mode?

10 feels low with how long the matches last.

It seems bronze and silver you do not lose points at all. Once you hit gold or platinum, you lose less points than you gain. And afterwards it is about equal gains and losses until you reach the higher divisions.
And also, apparently the platinum Genji is a lifetime reward. The Juno is not. Grind up to master THIS season if you want it.

Oh so they are making it harder to rank up then. Right now I’m All-Star 4 and wins give like 3x more progress than losses take away
I was thinking about the same thing. Way too low for how long the matches last. 10 is way too low in regular comp let alone in Stadium. I sincerely hope they change it tbh.

It’s not very clear to me if the ranks in Stadium are actually used by matchmaking, like MMR is for Competitive.
For example, let’s say it’s the start of Stadium Season 2, and I finished Season 1 at the highest rank (All-Star/Legend). When the new season starts, I’m back in Rookie League. But who does the matchmaking pair me with? Other players who also hit high ranks last season? Or actual rookies—like the Bronze-level equivalent in Comp?
First of all, that Juno skin looks ugly af, and I wouldnt use it in any situation. Regardless, im still miffed that its a skin for a character that I actually love, but its one that im essentially never gonna be able to get, bc im not at masters/GM level. At best im a plat-low diamond player, and my need/want to grind ranks is non-existent, as comp in ow2 is an absolutely horrible experience. So thank you for making a Juno skin (that I could theoretically want) be pretty much unobtainable. Im sure its gonna feel great when you lock out a Kiriko skin like this later.

First, you’ll start on the very bottom of the Rookie League—no placement matches
Marvel rivals ladder is pretty similar and I enjoy ranked more in that game so this is a good sign. One drawback is that the first week or so of the season is usually a complete clownshow with a higher MMR spread than quickplay but it’s not a big deal
No points will be lost in the first two Leagues: Rookie and Novice. In Contender and Elite, after a loss, you will lose a small number of Points, meaning you risk being relegated back to Novice if you lose too many matches
Seems very casual friendly, and also will give you a good chance to try out weird strats earlier in the season
so there won’t be grouping restrictions, nor will you be separated by Narrow or Wide groups.

You will also earn exclusive skins for reaching certain Leagues.
Silver ones look pretty nice for recolors, and you only have to climb through one real rank to get them which seems reasonable. Green one I’m not a fan of but I guess it’s just for flexing

Being only available for top tier players. Maybe for pro league players but definitely not only All-Star and higher.
Just read the blog and how random stadium is going to be at times depending on your team, this doesn’t seem fair to the player base.
Cool but is crossplay enabled in this mode just because its technically a competitive mode? Would suck to have an entire new mode locked out if your a console player who has pc friends.

Hard L that Stadium is competitive only. Just killed any hype I had in one fell swoop.
We’re locking skins behind ranks now? Hard no. Not remotely worth it. There’s no way this isn’t obnoxiously tedious by sheer time requirement, never mind realistic skill distributions that will obviously limit how many players can obtain it.
Nothing about Stadium excites me. Nothing about it screams, “this should be a hardcore competitive mode!”
And that color scheme for Juno doesn’t look good either…contrary to common belief, Orange and Green do not go well together. Nor do Orange and Teal for that matter.
If that is indeed the green from the Jade weapons on her, the secondary should have been a medium to dark purple, not orange. Or heck, gold would have been a fine choice either.

Why is Blizzard being so cheap with it. Back then they used to give more comp point and there was just one variant. Now they nerfed those points and even more variants per year. They should buff them. It takes ages to get one.

ah, so play enough and we get past the low ranks no matter what, and the mid ranks have more gain than loss, so be OK at the game and you’ll probably get the freebie skins. nice!
