Enough with the Mercy Thread Quarentine

I know someone is reading this. So I’ll say this as respectfully as possible.

The people who agree her ult and rez need some re-tooling VASTLY outnumber those who think she’s fine as-is.

Most people who actually play the hero and love the hero have given plenty of great suggestions for how she could be reworked, all of which were ignored in favor of where she’s been sitting since the nerf hit.

You can keep locking and moving these threads into “Mercy quarantine” all you want, but unless someone steps forward and addresses these very legitimate problems with how she feels and plays-- they’re just going to keep coming.

You cant ignore over 6 months of feedback from hundreds of people and expect them to just go away. People are going to get angrier and more frustrated, especially since there has been no actual correspondence within the thread itself. No “Mercy Updates” post on the forums to address the masses. Nothing but radio silence on why this thread even exists.

Are you still working on Mercy or not?

I mean this as respectfully as possible: if you want the playerbase to stop spamming the forms, communicate with us.

This is not an unreasonable request.

I love and appreciate all of the hard work you guys have put into this game, it means a lot to have devs regularly interact with the playerbase even if we arent always on our best behavior. Please don’t drop the ball here where it counts.

If Mercy is the 3rd most picked hero then that’s all the more reason to keep us in the loop.

That is all I and many others are asking for.

sincerely, a trash gengu.

I agree with you, but I think Jeff said that she’s still the #3 highest pickrate so they aren’t gonna touch her

Jeff did say that the team feel Mercy is fine and doesn’t require any more adjustments so I guess that’s the answer.

Hilariously, it got morphed into the Mercy mega-thread :joy:

Pickrate is irrelevant in Mercy’s case. her pickrate was solid BEFORE her rework

They communicated. Again. And second time, it wasn’t answer Mercy spammers wanted. So the spam goes on.

They aren’t working on Mercy. They believe she is fine. Statistics say she is fine. And, well, since we are pulling numbers out of our *****, I can say that people who think Mercy is fine VASTLY outnumber those who don’t. I don’t have any numbers to back this up, but neither do you.

There are only 6 healers in the entire game, only two of which can reliably solo heal and only one of those two can’t ever “run out” of healing.

That “one” is Mercy. She is the simpliest, easiest, and most reliable healer in the entire game.

Of course she’s the 3rd most picked hero, teams need a healer.

That doesn’t make it irrelevant at all. High pick rate indicates that people want to play that hero.

People SERIOUSLY need to stop using her pickrate as an argument. Mercy’s stupidly easy to play now, since the rework took all the skill she needed away. She’s boring to play.

I know my thoughts won’t do much, and they still need touched up and whatnot, but this is what I have now

I have also thought of a few ideas for Mercy

1: We can have rez still be an E move, but require a charge of lets say , 500-1000 healing, when you get said amount of healing you’ll have a single player rez without the cast-time. During Valk it can be a single free rez and the charge time can be lower during valk. If you don’t use the extra rez during valk you can keep it but it can be a cast-time, just being able to move some more: crouch, move at her normal speed, pull out her pistol, etc…

2: We can have rez stay as an E just with 3-5 charges(like symmetra turrets), you can choose to rez whoever, and if your entire team dies you can bring a few back, just not all of them. You can also have the extra charges for the next team fight, and after 30 seconds you can get a single charge on rez back. During valk you get an extra rez charge, even if you have all the charges, but she does less healing to targets she isn’t locked on to, she will do 30 healing a second on the other targets. After Valk ends, if you haven’t used the extra rez charge and have all of your rezes still, it will be removed, if you hadn’t used the extra charge and still didn’t have your rezes charged back yet, you keep the extra charge.

3: We can revert Mercy, but have the ult charge take longer then it used to. Valk can be an E move and last for around 5 seconds. It will add some extra mobility and let her run away from a Winston or Genji without using teammates, but will remove the healing chain and instant regen. Plus the longer ult charge will force most Mercy mains to be in better and/or riskier positions to get more healing done in a game.

Thanks for reading
Feel free to add what you would prefer or add on to what I have!!!

I really just wish questions would be answered instead of just constantly saying stuff about how they read everything daily.

As for her pickrate, it isn’t really a good counter-arguement just because her pickrate is still okay doesn’t mean the hero itself is. She’s a reliable solo healer that is easy to learn, hard to master. I really wish people would stop sh*tting on us for wanting to main Mercy, and enjoying her.

Well, if anything, compare picks in QP, where people play for fun not to suffer for SR. Overbuff only goes back 6 months but it’s been a downward trend.

It is irrelevant. People will play Mercy regardless of whether or not she’s in a good spot. Even when Mercy was considered a troll pick, she still had one of the highest pickrates.

Whether she’s UP, OP, fun or unfun, a huge portion of people will always play her, simply because their drawn to the character and because her particular skillset is considered completely unique to her and not transferable to other heroes.

They don’t “quarantine” the threads to silence people.

They consolidate the threads to make it easier for the devlopers to read the feedback. One thread with all the Mercy feedback in it is far easier to read than 900 individual threads scattered throughout thousands upon thousands upon thousands of other unrelated threads.

They also replied recently saying they feel mercy is fine, so they’ve given you a answer already.

They aren’t, Jeff said that the team (as in all the developers) think mercy is fine

You just don’t like the answer and there’s nothing to be done about it, you either cease asking about Mercy or get ignored

Maybe a better question is;

Will Mercy be looked into again at a future time? You are going off the Current Comp Picks/Wins during a Meta where Mercy played a big part in. Will she be looked into after another few seasons if/when the Meta changes up?

I think the devs need to realize they made a mistake, pickrate doesn’t mean a hero is fine as is. She needs some changes, she isn’t fun anymore. I would like to enjoy my main instead of forcing myself to play other heroes that people say require more skill (Widow).

I was actually going to listen to your argument like I do with all reasonable Mercy players, until you said that the number of people that don’t think she is fine, out number the ones that think she is.

What? Maybe on this forum, but you have no clue, and neither do I.

To say that your opinion is more important that than theirs doesn’t make for a good argument.

Mercy might not be as fun for me either, who knows, but she is in a good spot, for now at least.

If Mercy were to NEED changes, look at how I emphasize need, then yes, as long as her numbers are fine, they most likely won’t touch what isn’t broken

She’s probably the easiest healer to pick up and does the most healing. No matter how trash she gets people will always pick her because her healing is the best.
Statistics mean she’s still a reliable healer, which is good!! But her kit is clunky and slow, takes her out of the game. Statistics don’t show what is fun and what isn’t. The playerbase saying “this isn’t so fun” DOES show that and that needs to be considered by the devs.
Or, at least that’d be ideal.

People just overlooked eeveea’s ideas on Mercy, and many others have given ideas. Blizzard just needs to listen to us and attempt our ideas and thoughts…

if the people who thought she needed work were in the minority, they wouldnt need to keep making these feedback threads.

note- there are no feedback threads for any other hero.
