Enhancing Objective Play and Player Feedback

Hello, Blizzard Entertainment
I’ve been thinking about ways to further enhance team play and make player feedback more impactful in Overwatch 2. Here are my suggestions:

  1. Role-Specific Objective Bonuses:
  • Problem: Some roles lack clear in-game incentives to prioritize objective play.
  • Solution: Implement individual objective bonuses tailored to each role that contribute to a team-wide reward.
    • Tank: Bonus for time spent actively engaging enemies while on or near the objective.
    • Support: Bonus based on a combination of healing impactful targets and utilizing their unique utility.
    • Damage: Bonus for reaching a threshold of either damage dealt to high-priority targets OR damage dealt while disrupting enemy pushes.
  • Benefits: Encourages more objective-focused gameplay, rewards diverse contributions, promotes teamwork.
  1. Improved Player Feedback System:
  • Problem: The current feedback system feels limited, and players often don’t know if their feedback is being considered.
  • Solution: Introduce an in-game feedback system:
    • A star rating and optional text box after each match in non-Competitive modes.
    • A more detailed feedback prompt like a rating + specific questions + text after each rank adjustment in Competitive.
  • Communication: Developers to directly address common feedback points and explain resulting changes in developer updates.
  • Benefits: Provides more frequent and structured feedback, makes players feel heard, offers developers actionable insights.
I believe these changes could positively impact player engagement and the overall quality of Overwatch 2. I’d love to hear your thoughts and the community’s perspectives on these ideas.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
