Endorsement system is backwards

Or is that just me?

The higher the endorsement, the more toxic the player I’ve noticed. Most endorsement level 1/2s dont say a word at all (if they even can; I heard it mutes your game chat for some reason)

I feel like its just a useless system.

Even before that change, starting from even in the last few years in ow1, I usually fear endorsement 4 and 5 the most, then lvl 1s. the 4 and 5s tend to either play horribly while talking nice, or they just outright spew crap.

Me: Endorse 5, barely say much of anything. I just play with team and I get good-boy points (endorsements). I see this in other lvl 5’s. As I try and give my points to people that need them first. But the ones I want to pick first are always 5, they do teamwork well.

Low level endorsement: Blaming someone after the game is over, leaving immediately. Probably have the worst stats. Doesn’t group up.
Notice their endorse is 2, I just think “you just got that ability to talk, and you waste it on that?” I sip my coffee and move on.

According to my personal kinda extensive statistics in mh, if I see a player with a level below 4 (s)he will almost certainly be the weakest player in the match)

agreed. that is why you need to make sure to report.

I have seen this as well.

Just make sure not to engage in chat with them. Usually they are qued with 2 man or 3 man. they report you quicker.

Just dont type in chat, watch and report.

You cant speak at lvl 1 and most of the time people lvl 1n 2 have been actioned did their time and are playing again on that account.

Or the are supposedly new

Not all, but generally

Level 2/3 players barely say a word (they can, they just choose not to talk)
Level 4/5 players have toxic positivity in their messages

Endorsements should have been something totally different.

  • Private.
  • an extension of match making.
  • based upon the number of leaves in a match and participation.
  • not something you vote for on another player.

I’m not sure high endorsement means anything, but low endorsement always means bad.

I don’t think it’s been the case for me. The moment I see someone say something passive aggressive or anything more explicitly rude or whining, I notice immediately in most cases they’re a blank avatar, renamed and/or low endorsement account.

I will say however, it’s a lot easier to get 3 to 4 endorsement these days. Before it used to be difficult for me to keep endorsement 3 or 4 and now almost everyone is 4 or 5 in my games. I’m usually a 4 now I guess and I’m not really doing much of anything. Just playing normally. With that I can imagine more players at higher endorsement being a bit more rude if it’s easier to get. The system is designed to just spam endorsement regardless, there’s no like “rate down” or anything like that. If anyone plays enough games even if they’re rude in some of them, they will inevitably rise up the endorsement ranks. Unless reported I guess idk

I miss the OW1 end of match report and voting. Not this useless and lifeless feature.

Because blizz are geniuses they allow friends to endorse on another, so even the most toxic smurfs will have lvl 5 if they regularly play as a group.

All you need to do is be better than your lobby, which is easy as hell, and then you get free endorsements even when you throw.

I think 1s are muted? You can’t get that low without being toxic and getting reported I think. I’ve been at 5 since I could remember. I’m not toxic or care about my endorsement level.

High endorsement means usually that they just play a lot of healbot support, or tank.
When I have moments I play a lot of tank and support my endorsement is around 4-5, and when I switch to dps only it drops down to 2-3 eventhough my support and tank ranks are 1-2 ranks below dps.

I play mostly Widow but still managed to get a 5. I guess my team likes seeing dome clicks.

endorsements are pretty dumb and dont mean anything… are you a support that does the role semi adequately? you are gonna get endorsements level 4 easily.

a tank that does their job pretty well. level 4 or 5 easy

if you see a DPS only with level 4 or 5. they only play with friends or they literally carry each match.
