What’s the point of endorsement level now? Just a pretty border and a number? Because you don’t get loot boxes anymore that’s for sure

I’d gamble it’s either entirely just cosmetic, or it factors into some weird trust system.
Since I don’t think toxic players usually receive a boatload of endorsements.
Most people in my matches are usually on or above my endorsement level so idk.

Oh, there’s info on the wiki. So yeah, it’s an indicator.
The endorsement level is shown in the scoreboard for teammates, on your own career profile, and in the voice chat. The indicator for it is a circular meter that fills up with certain colors depending on the types of endorsements received, along with the endorsement level.
All players begin at endorsement level 1 and can progress to a max level of 5; every endorsement you receive impacts your endorsement levels. Higher endorsement levels can help you get better groups in the Looking for Group tool. The endorsement level can decay.
Maintaining your Endorsement Level
The trick of maintaining your endorsement level is to play Overwatch frequently and most importantly not leaving matches prematurely.
Your endorsement level can decrease if you do not continue to receive endorsements or leave games before they’re finished. Punishments within the reporting system may also strip players of their endorsement level and place them at level 0.
Long story short, it doesn’t work.

It used to reward loot boxes which made it somewhat worth it. Now, like everything else, it awards Battle Pass XP… yay…

lol I know. Its crazy to think you used to get 1 box per level and 3 wasnt uncommon, so you could end up with a buncha cool stuff which now probably equates to like $100 lol

You now receive something like 1 Battlepass level as a reward I believe, when they do those once in a blue moon Endorsement Level rewards that you receive the next time you log in.
Probably after the battle pass is over
Had 1 reward already about a week back
I got mine the other day so its not a the end. I have no idea the interval though.
Its kinda pointless, especially if you like playing with friends. We can’t even endorse our opponents who do well.
It’s not even that good at all. It’s 3k xp if you’re level 3, or 4k xp if you’re level 4.
A better reward would be currency. 300c if you’re level 3, 400c if you’re level 4 etc.
It’s so hard to maintain now. Used to keep a solid 4 all the time. Now with fewer people endorsing (especially if your team loses) it’s a struggle to keep it from constantly dropping to a three.
Plus the fact you can’t endorse the other team sucks, sometimes you want to toss one for a really good opponent.

Exactly. The endorsement system punishes you for grouping with friends. Even though the Battlepass encourages you to play in a group.
And you can’t even “salute” an enemy anymore for whatever reason.
The endorsement system might as well be tossed out along with the other social stuff Blizzard trashed.

Right, you get battlepass xp.
Ironically enough people reported that you always get “what is missing to the next level” instead of “one level”, and even more ridiculous is the fact that the reward is the exact same for everyone, no matter the endorsement level.
