As a pc user using an xbox controller for quickplay to relax back after work, having no aim assist is terrible. Leaves you not able to play any hitscan heroes. My solution to this is to create controller preferred lobbies and mouse and keyboard input lobbies separately. This allows all controller users regardless of platform to all have aim assist together. On pc you are at a massive disadvantage using a controller versing mouse and keyboard and console aim assist. I refuse to use mouse and keyboard even though it gives you the upper hand. That or just re-enable aim assist altogether with an option to turn off. It does not give you aimbot at all, try playing a widow trying to take down a echo only using your thumb with no aim assist…
No. Looking at the competitive stat of apex this shouldn’t happen.
It is already happening, the solution is for nobody to have aim assist.
Well of course you’re going to be at a disadvantage, PC primary controller is keyboard and mouse.
Maybe you should have gone with a console if you cannot relax playing on a PC without a controller
Should have got a PS5/XBox instead like what even lol
i don’t get why people look at the words aim and assist and think it should be anywhere
i even turned it all the way off on console at the time
play on console. its free.
You REFUSE to use mouse and keyboard on a platform designed around it, so Blizzard is supposed to give you aim assist?
That’s pretty entitled.
Like others have said, if you want to live the controller lifestyle, get yourself a console.
That said, I play on my couch, feet up, and leaned back by using a controller and a mouse. There are ways to play the game in a relaxed posture without limiting yourself to controller aiming.
I’ll reply to everyone, you have all honestly missed the whole point of this post. I am clearly suggesting controller users get aim assist whilst on pc. believe it or not, not every user is a K&M elitist. My other suggestion was why put a percentage of users at a clear disadvantage when using a controller on pc. Console players have aim assist when playing with a pc friend in quickplay, so why is pc controller use aim assist disabled? Doesn’t add up does it? No, it doesn’t.
Rezeak - This is not Apex and is not regarding competitive. It was for quickplay only. If you’re playing competitive in quickplay, you playing the wrong mode. Quickplay is for trying new characters, having a bit of fun with friends, trying new tactics.
Disco - Wrong, consoles all have aim assist. Even when in pc lobbies in quickplay. Having no aim assist is not up for debate. It should be enabled on all controller inputs.
Moira - Although pc is based around mouse and keyboard. This is no longer a valid point in modern gaming. Loads of games offer controller support and all other games have aim assist for controller on pc. Overwatch is the only one not support a certain aspect of controller users.
Ocelot - That’s awesome you were able to adapt to that! I however am very much used to aim assist that overwatch throws it off big time. I own games when using brig or rein.
StarGateHeav - Wrong, buying a console in australia costs $750. It doesn’t do nearly half of what I can do on a laptop. Not going to buy a console just for Overwatch. What a waste.
Trilly - It’s not entitled at all. Consoles have aim assist on controller - Don’t you think pc controllers should too? If not, you are part of the problem with modern gaming. This is why I suggested input lobbies so you can play on K&M with other K&M users only. All controllers would be in their own lobbies. You want crossplay, you can’t just go put a percentage of users at a clear disadvantage. Using a controller and a mouse just to aim is bad game design.
