Enable Aim Assis for console player in crossplay games

It’s really frustrating to be desavantaged when playing with my friend who are on Pc .
It limit me to aimless characters instead of what i want to play .

Please enable it at least everywhere except in ranked , i dont mind but just let us enjoy the game in crossplay .

No.

Aim assist on controller would give you an advantage over PC/mouse players.

aim assist is not an aim bot. it does not give controller users a one up on kbm. it helps us close the gap in terms of accuracy, controller (even with aim assist) will NEVER be as accurate as kbm. every other game with cross play supports aim assist, there is honestly no excuse to not implement it.

It does. Ive played fortnite where they have cross play with aim assist for controller and they are at an advantage. Everyone knows this. Its what killed fortnite for PC.

if you are losing to someone with controller aim assist, that’s more your problem than anything. you’ve clearly never used aim assist, it works against you half of the time anyway. kbm will always be king and best for aim, controller aim assist is no contest. it is more possible to “snap” to players in fortnite/COD but it has never (in my experience) been like that for console overwatch

You are just wrong. Long distance in fortnite mouse has the advantage, but up close, aim assist gives the controller the edge. Aim assist broke PC fortnite everyone knows this.

sorry i did edit my comment to agree that fortnite does have that aim in and out to snap to targets kind of thing going for it, but i can assure you that doesn’t happen in overwatch. i also play paladins with aim assist and it does not do anything magical for me like it might in call of duty or fortnite

aim assist could potentially be too big of a buff to controller players.

depending on how strong the aim assist is obviously, but in low mmr matches an aim assist player is likely always going too beat a low mmr mouse + kb player.

M+KB is only the best at the absolute highest level of play in overwatch, and only because of how fast paced things are. in other fps’s strong aim assist can be pretty hard to beat.

Because obviously using mouse over a controller is not an advantages … common

Segregate queues based on input device, give consoles k/bm support, remove aim assist.

Done, problem solved.

Sure it is without aim assist.

Thats why you should keep the players separate so you dont muddy up the game.

If you have PC friends and want to play with them, buy a pc or have them buy a ps5. Simple solution for you without messing up the game for me.

that works too

I can understand that but all we want is having fun . In ranked i dont mind if it’s desabled because of thoses concern but in qp or any arcade game it make no sense for me

QP shouldnt suffer from imbalances either, this is the main game mode for OW.

you guys should play with a controller sometime to see how “powerful” it really is, you’re going to be disappointed

yeah but your fun is at the expense of someone else. even in just QP there are going to be people who exclusively play that mode to have fun

its far more unfair to have something that helps certain people to aim better then it is to take away that assistance.

because as you said, its only in Quick play. in competitive your playing against other controller players with your aim assist active.

the rule goes both ways.

A lot of games do have such extreme aim assists that controllers are just straight up better. See: fortnite, apex.

No game gets this right, either the aim assist is too much and it is oppressive, or it isnt enough and controllers are garbage in comparison. Then you have OW which allows console players to keep their aim assist WITH k/bm, just to really stick it to people.

No.

Keep your cheats out of my games.

Aim assist differs from game to game. OW’s aim assist is not strong at all. The part that aims for you is more of a hinderance than helpful and if I could turn it off separately from the part that changes your sensitivity when aiming near enemies, I would.

The problem is absolutely nothing prevents console players from using a xim or similar device, and then playing with a kbm setup and aim assist. This is already glaringly common on console (especially at higher ranks),

Keep it there.
