EMP should have a longer cast time

0.5 sec is too short I can’t even react to it, right now it is the best ultimate in the game so I would like to see more counterplay without reducing its power.

0.9 sec will be good, it will be enough for some heroes to use their ult or their invincibility abilities to counter it, I don’t mind making sombra active it while invisible but after it she should get out of stealth.

Increasing cast time doesn’t matter it since a stun within that 0.5 can cancel it.

1 second is an eon and a half.
For perspective, a D.Va bomb takes 3 seconds

And then they said “best ultimate in the game”.
Oh man, you should have been there. It was hilarious.

You also have the time it takes for her to engage. This includes either:

  1. Her casually walking up to you
  2. Her decloaking animation (.7s) and super loud voiceline
  3. Her throwing in her translocator which is very obvious

This makes the window for you to react much larger than the cast time. You just need to git gud.

Rein’s ult is much more dangerous, more effective in less coordinated teams and has a 0.6 sec cast time, but that’s fine apparently…

It is… the best ultimate in the game though, it wins team fights on it’s own. You just need to actually follow up on it.

She can throw translocator while out of stealth.

Throwing translocator doesn’t have to be in front of them it can be in any 4 direction.

EMP basically is a free team wipe.

You can see the translocator coming if you’re paying attention, and it itself has an animation time. It’s not instant.

It does not need a longer cast time.

wins team fights on it own?
but needs to be followed up on?
this is a contradiction

If coordinated. If your team can’t do shet when you EMP’d whole team and destroyed barriers (yep that thing happened a lot in gold-low plat), it’s only useful to kill zen

Just because you can’t react to it doesn’t mean other people can’t. It’s not hard to tell she stands there for like 2 seconds coming out of invisibility in a big team fight… can you guess what she’s going to do?
Or if she wants to ult in the sky it’s not hard to tell either, if I see a little translocator flying on to my point I usually just move out of the way because she’s going to emp

If they didn’t team wipe… Your team is trash

Only if it gets a large radius buff in compensation.
