Anyone else disappointed? I expected them to look like the gemstone and not just be… Green.

Diamond weapons would be cool.

Yep, and so would many other options. I often don’t use golden weapons right now unless I like how they go with a skin, and I don’t think I’d use emerald at all.

That was my thought. I won’t use them at all.

My first impression was just, “Wow, it looks like the default weapon of the obligatory green version of the base skin.”

It was VERY disappointing to me. They hyped up a “more rewarding competitive” for so long and then dropped the ball. They are introducing yet another currency. It appears to just be another color.

Alternatives that would have exciting me:

  • the ability to mix and match weapon skins and other skins. Yes, there might be some clipping issues but who cares?
  • special voice lines and emotes that can only be earned with competitive points. Whenever you hear or see them you could immediately realize that they played a lot of competitive to earn it.
  • a cosmetic that is time locked to winning x games in the competitive season. “Oh you like that widow skin…you had to win 100 matches in season 9, or wait 12 months to buy it in the store”.
  • create a way to convert competitive points into premium currency (even if at bad rate)

These would have been rewarding changes and reasons to grind in competitive.

It’ll prolly get a lot of TLC before it hits live, at least I hope it does, I can imagine them looking really cool with some good custom shaders

On the same topic, some gun skins with that spooky cosmic shader the star horse orisa/space sigma skin has, would be pretty dope

Remeber they are stilll in work that could be almost a year old and they could look better i say wait for release the real crime is not letting us get them with comp points
