ELO hell is real ... we have the proof

There is no comparable to volatile, so we are losing more based on the mod system. Getting win streaks in the “window” doesn’t work as well as lose streaks for some reason. The decay of one rank is absolutely insane. Having better players try to adjust to worse players elo to try to climb is not fun, and doesn’t even work. The impact of those players picking the wrong comps is too detrimental. DPS is the sweatiest roll and typically the hardest to carry on historically, so matches feel tough even a rank below. Tanks not doing much and healers not doing much… dps ultimates hard to use, visor blade high noon widow ult dragon pulse, these are all bad ults right now. Feels like a pretty stagnant meta right now even a rank below, i call this a version of ELO hell.

You lose more on a loss than you win on a win, making deranking easier than ever. I won 25 games in a row from plat 5 to almost the end of plat 1, lost 3 games in a row (expected to win) and back down to plat 2

I am still a bit surprised people are even bothering to look at that.

Get to the end of the match…
did you win - yes/no. are you still having fun - yes… play again.

After any reset, and big change things will be a little messy. No point even worrying about what it says for now. Just focus on enjoying matches and trying to improve.

I’m a bit surprised anyone would play a ranked set without paying attention to the grading. If you’re just playing for the luls, why aren’t you in QP?

I know what rank I am, and I know where I can get to. I play to win, and play to improve as a player.

I don’t check my progress after a game, because a single match doesn’t mean anything. The only time I go out of my way to check it is at the end of the season.

What’s the magic number of matches in which you valuate your score again? I specified 3, not one. I just made a mental note that each one “expected” me to win, which was the part that caught my attention.

However many I play in a season I guess. Yeah, occasionally I will glance at my profile and notice the rank. But I never played this game to get to X rank. I played this game because it was fun, then I decided I would try and be a better player. I am now much higher rank than I was.

To each their own, I guess. The reason they made the match by match adjustment was because most people preferred it that way. Winning is my goal, improvement is necessary. Just competitive things.

Yeah. It is definitely better than the previous nonsense.

But things were always going to be a little messy to start this season. So mentally, I wrote it off. I will learn to adapt to the new patch as a tank player, try to improve what I do, and go again in season 10.

its not elo hell exactly, more that you were constantly a low rank, so you need to do a lot better to prove you dont. More like, ok if you have 800 games in bronze 4, and win 4 games in a row, the game may believe you still belong in bronze 4, just cause of the 796 before

and each win/loss is still shown, just less MMR untill you break out of it ,typically by winning a lot of uphill battles

‘uphill battles’ is the biggest BS Blizzard ever created. I have gained more % winning an expected win game than gaining for uphill battle. It makes no sense at all.
