Egryn was a low-tier, Doomfist-obsessed Overwatch player with an unbreakable spirit…and an unbreakable grudge against certain heroes. Though his skills on any character other than Doomfist were pretty dismal, Egryn had the confidence of a top 500 player. He logged onto the forums daily, where he poured his heart out (or maybe just his frustrations) about the two heroes he despised most in the game: Moira and Genji.
The thing about Genji that set Egryn off was the constant dashing, the Deflect at the worst possible moments, and the infuriating way Genji could escape every time Egryn was about to land a punch. To Egryn, Genji was a “waste of code” who “needed a whole rework” just to stop existing.
And Moira? Don’t get Egryn started on Moira. Every time she threw her damage orb into the fray or faded away right as he was about to secure a kill, he felt his blood pressure rise. To him, Moira players were “bottom-feeders,” only interested in spamming their damage to boost stats. He couldn’t wrap his head around why anyone would enjoy playing such an “annoying, no-skill” character.
But as much as Egryn hated Genji and Moira, he was fiercely dedicated to his Doomfist. Every time he logged into a match, he psyched himself up for the big plays. Sure, he missed a lot of those Rocket Punches, and sometimes he’d end up charging straight into a wall instead of an enemy. But when Egryn managed to land a clean Uppercut-Meteor Strike combo, he felt like a god.
One day, though, a Moira outplayed him so brutally that he raged harder than usual on the forums. His post went something like:
"Does Blizzard even play their own game? Why is Moira’s damage orb still a thing? And why can Genji deflect literally everything? Fix your game, Blizzard. Also, delete Genji. Thanks.”
The next match? You guessed it: the opposing team had a Genji-Moira duo, and they targeted Egryn all game long. Egryn raged and ranted the whole time, but he still swore he’d be back—because as long as Doomfist was there, so was he.
