Hey all,
I like the idea of having a second hero that can basically fly but thought it would be cool if this was a healer. Blizz has done a good job changing how healers are commonly played, adding a ranged healer in Ana for example.
It would be interesting to see a healer able to have an aerial perspective too.
Her name being Echo, I thought one of her abilities could function a bit like that of a Pally’s “Beacon Of Light” in WoW where it can be placed on a focus hero and a small percentage of all the heals done by Echo would also be applied to the “focus” hero…Maybe 5% or something. Thought that would have been a nice way to keep pharahs alive as they often get ignored in the sky
But also a nice way to protect a second healer or a tank…Anyone really. But it would be a cool way to protect a specific hero above others while not having to specifically focus heal them.
I don’t expect Echo to actually become a healer haha but it could have been great

They should have released soujurn as a dps so they could have echo be a support for OW 2

I loved their idea of a adaptation ability. But I wont lie, that would be an awful support ult
Lol no
The 32nd hero should have been a support
Echo feels good as a dps

The game needs a lot more healers and tanks.

They tried very hard to make it happen, but her ultimate caused too many problems.
Since they liked the ultimate more than the role, they made her a DPS instead.

Honestly I’m kind of think echo was pushed forward release wise.
as even in the marketing for Ow2 she was suppose to be part of it.
That and Blizz was and possibly still is following a lose one of each role a year kind of thing.
Agreed, but it is what it is and can’t change that. Might as well look to the future and hope we get some cool supports in ow2. Personally, I’m hoping for Junker Queen to be a support, since that doesn’t make sense, like Echo as a dps.
I do wish they changed the lore though after they realized echo was going to be dps. It just makes Liao look like a psycho now
Before Echo’s ult was revealed, I was hoping Sanjay would get an ult like that if he became a hero. Like, he would wear a suit that projects hardlight in the shape of some other heroes.
They should’ve saved her ult for OW2 and worked Echo as a healer. Give her anotehr unique ult, if she was a main healer, her ult could carry a little more offensive power (like Nanoboost and Amplification Matrix) or if she was more off-healer, defensive power (Soundbarrier, Transcendence…), maybe something like she makes a duplicate right on her side aiming to the same crosshair, essentialy doubling her output, or make 2, one on each side, so she deals triple everything (at the cost of a triple-wide hitbox, maybe making the copies destroyable) so her ultimate is basicaly an “echo” of herself. That aside, her current kit is SO EASY to make healer-ish, her sticky bombs could heal allies, her beam could heal, her flight boost could grant temporary shield health as her emergency escape…

IDK. I actually think her ult as is would work as a support ult. My opinion, but I think it is very “support” to be able to adapt your team to certain fights. Maybe you need extra dps for a minute, maybe more shield/tank. I don’t see how a healer becoming DPS or Tank is any different than a DPS becoming a tank or healer (as it is currently)
