Just played against a new player who got away with spamming stickies all game.
They take 150 damage to risk a window to spam their stickies, hide behind the door and get healed up Instantly.
They don’t fly unless it’s to hide behind rooftops to fly to the sniper.
This is honestly why Echo is usable in many levels. kAt low levels, hard focus the tank. Echo has 6 sec 170+ dmg burst. A 151 dps trishot with no fall off. Laser for helping to finish off targets with a wide beam that is effectively hitscan. Ult on low health to stay alive to try to get a kill on someone. Spam high traffic areas, etc.
She has many easy to use strategies, but that’s mainly all heroes have stuff like that to abuse to get through many ranks.
But she’s also VERY easy to kill as a tradeoff. Echo is only super good at high elo because you have to kill REALLY fast with her. As in, one shot combos every time.
lmao, no you don’t. The reason echo might not be as popular in those ranks is because other damage heroes can do what she does with less buttons and easier weapons/spread patterns to learn. She is strong but people would rather land one arrow or two Ashe/Cass shots than learning to play Echo. Tracer is also easier to pick up than Echo and perform well in higher ranks.
Echo isn’t easier to kill than a lot of characters and is harder to kill than some due to her mobility along with her strong burst potential. What are you talking about?
She’s squishy with a massive hitbox. And half of that hitbox is a critbox.
Echo is not mechanically difficult. She’s hard in the same way Tracer is: If you don’t know exactly what you’re doing you’ll die to anyone worth their salt.
You absolutely do. If you go for a kill and miss on Echo, you’re as good as dead most of the time.
That statement means nothing in this game, have you seen the hitboxes? Sym also has a massive crit hitbox yet she doesn’t fly around carpet bombing people and her death beam has to charge to “death-beam” status.
There are very few damage characters who can go into a duel, miss their shots, and get out alive in high ranks. Part of the reason Tracer is so popular up there is because she is one of the few characters who can miss her shots then just recall/blink out and reset.
That’s also why other characters are easier to learn/perform well with than Echo, her kit is really easy to land if you’re kissing someone’s nostrils all the time but landing ranged shots with her bombs and being able to get clutch kills with her spread at range is harder and requires more luck than pointing and clicking the same targets with a hitscan.
