People always asking for moira, bastion, reaper buffs should understand that easy low skill ceiling characters should be bad and shouldn’t have the best win rates past maybe plat.
Whats the idea that every hero needs to be good all the time??? isn’t this how we come to the point where now if you don’t pick rein or dont pick hitscan or echo/pharamercy you have a huge chance of just losing the game?
People look at torb and say hes good because of his niche or genji is good because he can curp stomp if you play him really well and team plays around him well similarly shouldn’t easy characters be less rewarding since being easy is technically a niche???
Though isn’t the thing exactly that those “easy” characters are barely picked and are utter trash whilst those “hard” characters are picked a lot and completely destroy lobbies?
Something being easy or hard is pretty much subjective in my mind, heroes should only have an impact on certain situations and should only be “hard to play” because a player finds it hard to master certain aspects.
thing is rein, hog, zar, mccree, soldier, pharmercy
aren’t necesseraily what i would consider hard characters either.
all hard characters mechanics wise are mid tier at best like genji, doom, widow, ball, with middling win rates and pretty bad pick rates etc. tracer is probably the best low high tier character thats extremelly hard but she has pretty decent win rate. sombra is pretty much the only super low but super hard character left.
no. easy heros should be reworked… no one hero should have a full kit of easy mechanics. but im talking about full kits, this is not about aiming or not. winston dont needs aim skills but needs a lot of positions skills.
my guess this is what they are doing for overwatch 2 (reworks) YET there are still gonna be more easier mechanically inclined heroes since you have so many. who it is is up to debate. also with new heroes you run into that problem also
this game was designed to be a casual shooter anyways till they forced into an esport tournament (owl) and had high ranked influencers ranting about which heroes should be good or not. overwath was its greatest before owl … well it was new so yea
its still a matter of opinion maybe a larger group of people want an ESPORT competitive online shooter but that means you really have to make most heroes mirror and ALWAYS tweak this ability/ult and that ability/ult which will make that unpopular with casuals.
question is who is more of the playerbase??? the casuals or the hardcore
i think this is a valid argument too. if you look at the TOP NA 500 leaderboard for all roles every hero has representation. so maybe its not as bad as people make it out to be. people just want to argue and complain who deservers to be more op lol
maybe its more of a gap between OWL and the LEADERBOARDS?
ummmmmmmmmm to have fun and play games with. This isn’t street fighter or tekken this is a online fps game. Not everything about this game has to do with getting rank 1 with a character. Maybe thats the problem with this game and why it needs pve so bad. To shake people out of the mentality that OWL sorta set that all that matters is grinding comp to your next rank is the “only and real” way to play overwatch.
I freaking suck at Zarya and think she’s super tricky because you have to have really good bubble placement and close-range position without getting blown up. I don’t find her easy at all.
Winston is probably the tank I find the easiest, though a lot of people disagree there.
McCree/Soldier I find more difficult than Genjy and Doom, but maybe I’m just better at diving from playing a lot of ball.
Mercy I find harder than Ana because you really have to know how to prioritize, pull great rezes, and time if you want to compete with Ana’s raw output.
So… how do we define “easy” heroes?
Hot take: No hero is “easy” enough that they should be bad. Heroes require different skillsets, but those skills are too often ignored by people who think that their specific skill is more important.
Also: Having entry-level heroes who are simple mechanically IS A GOOD THING. They can be powerful. The thing about “Hard” heroes is that they are also “hard” to play AGAINST if done well.
Tracer is much harder to counter than she is to actually play, as evidence by the sheer number of pros that just can’t hit the dang twig thing.
Okay let’s just get rid of all the characters and have one character per role. That way within roles no character can be better than another. I mean when one does it the BEST no need to pick others anyway, right? Just let them rot.
“Support guy is easier to play than damage role guy and killed me when i was playing damage role guy, the true skill role guy!”
oh okay we’ll just remove support guy he doesn’t take skill healing is skillless.
“Tank guy killed me when I was playing DPS guy he shouldn’t be able to because tanking doesn’t take skill!”
oh okay sorry we’ll remove tank guy from the game, so now there is only DPS guy. Everyone just plays the one DPS guy.
“Dps guy killed me with a melee attack! melee doesn’t require aim and thus isn’t skill!”
i don’t care that a character has an easier kit. Reaper and Bastion are fine to exist but why do people ask for buffs for them??? They are entry level dps that are good for low level players why do people want to buff them to be better than the more difficult dps.
TTK should be higher and as equal as possible across characters. Everything in this game does way too much damage right now. DF can fall silently out of the sky and you get instantly deleted. There is no counter-play. Widow can charge a shot only about 70% and delete you. Hanzo can barely even draw his bow and kill you with 1 shot, not to mention the spam. Junk can shoot once and spam a mine at your face. Genji can right click and dash. Cree can stun and right click. Not all of these things are easy to pull off. It still feels horrible to play against. The damage really needs to be nerfed and the healing, also. Battles should be decided by how well you play your character, not which character you play.
