Easter Overwatch Event

I always wondered why there was never an Easter event in overwatch. Why exactly is that? It is a great holiday (for obvious reasons), and I think the devs could make incredible skins for it. We already have emotes relating to Bunnies (D.va, Mei), so why not skins or at least voice lines.

I also had the thought of having a mini game for Easter, where you go around a map trying to find clues to a final prize, and first one to get to the final clue wins a prize… like a loot box.

Please don’t criticize this post, as I just wanted to talk about it <3.

“Nerr it’s a Christian corruption of a pagan festival, it offends me to my very core, do not want, nerrrrrrr…”

I’m very sorry. I’ll delete this post now

Because not everyone celebrates Easter. It’s the same why we don’t have a “Christmas” event, and why it’s simply called “Winter Wonderland”.

It’s neutral.

Just outlining the typical response you’d be likely to get from some certain keyboard warriors.

Easter is a religious holiday.

Though you may get your wish when Symmetra rises from the dead. Hopefully.

I’m sorry if I have offended anyone while asking this.
I had not thought about anyone getting offended.

You didn’t offend anyone. You just asked a question you were wondering about. :hugs:

I’m very glad

they should make a bunny wonderland event then. :flushed:

I find this odd because they have no skins referencing Hanukkah or Kwanzaa for example, but have multiple for Christmas.

I’m not angry about this, I just see no point in being neutral if it’s a thin disguise for Christmas.

Not really a critique but questionable ideas for skins.

If there is an Easter event, what skins would you have besides bunnies and baby chickens? Oh boy, can’t wait for a Tracer Mary skin. Can’t wait for a Hanzo Jesus skin. You know, the Son of God who was killed to save us from eternal suffering? Or is almost every Overwatch girls like Tracer, Mercy, Widow, D.Va, Mei, Symmetra, and Brigitte going to get a bunny costume like the ones in Fortnite. Solid questions if you ask me.

If there was an Easter event, who, besides D.Va, would get a bunny skin?

But yeah, it has to do with that religious thing. You’re fine about that offended thing. You were just curious, and being curious is okay :-p

I admit, I was curious too. I mean, I still want a Valentine’s event so Hanzo can get a cupid skin (even though I don’t celebrate Valentines, Easter, Christmas, or Halloween :joy:).

Im pretty sure chinese new year is not celebrated everywhere either and yet it is an event in-game, just like the halloween is not celebrated everywhere or at least not as noticeable as in other places, yet thats in the game.

They just don´t like to make events related to religion because that may trigger some people i guess…

Kwanzaa isn’t something you celebrate all over the world, nor is it really an “official” celebration.

And it can be debated why there isn’t any Hanukkah references.

I’m just saying, if they are going out of their way to be so neutral, what is the point if you aren’t going to be as blatant with other celebrations in your skins and references, etc.

it’s just for the show, because i’m pretty sure most of their player base celebrate christmas and not other events at that time, so since christmas is more known they need to make skins related to it, while at the same time not calling it christmas but another thing entirely just to not offend anyone.

but to be fair most of the winter skins are not related to christmas anyway.

I was going to mention that. Aside from Santa Torb, Elf Tracer and Sombra, there aren’t really any other skins that stand out as Christmas.

Decorations on maps maybe, but that’s really about it. Then again, I have a variety of religions in my family, and they put up Christmas trees and fancy Christmas decoration to be part of the holiday spirit.

Why wasn’t Pesah always an event in overwatch? I don’t get it…
