Hi,
I have an issue which is also described here as a bug:
and here as a technical issue:
I don’t think I had problems with this lag in Overwatch, but in Overwatch 2 whenever I leave the mech and especially when I re-enter it, my game “lags”, often for several seconds.
I don’t think it is my internet connection, as it only happens around the transition from/to dvas mech, but when this happens my character rubberbands and I experience other problems that normally appear when I lag because of ping, just as is described in the bug post. What is also interesting, is that the in-game “ms” counter spikes during that time.
It is especially bad if I re-enter the mech and then press shift for example.
The only explanation I can think of is performance, but I don’t experience this lag anywhere else and my graphics settings are set as low as possible (I think) and my system fulfills the min spec requirements.
But it feels like the game struggles to load dvas mech model and HUD, which basically stops my game until this is loaded.
Since OW2 I also regularly have issues at the beginning of games where I am already loaded in to play but it takes up to several minutes until all the models, the HUD and sounds are loaded.
After OW2 released I also often had the issue that I was kicked from games for being afk while I was still in the loading screen.
This is also described here:
“Constant lag/player models not loading” by Usagi from the 19.04.2023 (can’t link it due to the max 2 link rule)
If this is a performance issue, what are the settings I can use to optimize performance as much as possible?
My system specs:
CPU: i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60GHz 3.60 GHz
RAM: 16,0 GB
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970, 4GB VRAM
In-game performance stats:
fps: 165, tmp: 64C, VRM: 439MB, latency: 79ms (it can spike to >150ms), ind: 56ms (spikes to >100ms)
