Dva perks opinion

Bunny stomp: 50% increased call mech range sounds overpowered on paper until you find out it just adds falloff damage from the 250 damage center. Not very viable but might get you a kill on someone already at low hp and out of typical range.

Ejection suit: 75 temporary health on eject which lasts a fair bit of time is quite good. Sadly it’s not something that you’ll experience a lot of unless you’re playing poorly and getting demeched a lot. Can allow more agressive bomb plays though so I do think this is the better option.

Shield system: replace 150 hp for 150 shields, Defense matrix converts 25% of damage absorbed into shields.
So I’ve been asking for this exact change for years and they’ve finally done it. Safe to say this will be the best upgrade choice she has and will allow you to both stay in the fight longer as well as make more aggressive plays. I absolutely love this. No longer will just stinky Hammond have the fun of shield hp.

Heavy rockets: larger micro missiles with reduced speed and number but higher explosion damage and size. I still don’t know the exact total damage but it actually doesn’t look much different at all from normal micro missiles. I do know that it’s 8 missiles in total (normal micro missiles are 18). Easily the better micro missile option since explosion damage is far easier to take advantage of and she can actually deal good damage to armor for once with them. Great option for using at longer range too to finish enemies off. I’ve been asking for “macro missiles” for a long time too so it’s cool to see this added as well.

Dva’s perks are great. I would’ve liked to have seen something a bit more active for her minor perks but I know that’s how they’ve designed most of the minor perks to be.
Cannot wait to try out the majors. They’re both great upgrades.

The shield perk allows for more skill expression and solidifies the hero fantasy. It’s also technically a trade-off instead of a net buff, which is healthy.
Definitely one of the best perks added.

I hope the new missiles provide a new layer of interaction that is different to the normal missiles, and not just “the same but visually different”.

I wish this level of nuance was universal.
Quite a few perks of the other heroes felt lame or low effort.

Well, they’re better against armor right? So it makes dva technically better against armored tanks in Frontline trades. Less divey more brawly I guess?

They kinda cooked with tank perks more than most others. Sigma has mobility to deal with dive or the levitation melee to deal with brawl FINALLY. They actually tried to address weaknesses on tanks. Kinda. Some of them. Some more than others lol.

how about dva bomb detonates 50% faster but dmg reduced by 25%

i remmeber asking for something similar but she got reduced cooldown on rockets based on dmg absorbed, when they werent so strong and it was 6v6

Shield perks sounds op tbh. Like sigmas grasp on a resource meter. Sure its only 25% and 150shield max. But she can do it 0.5s all the time compared to sigma that have it on a long cd. If you have a team mates that shoot her dm it will not only be useless, but a liability. Also DM have a max duration of 3s, same as the shield health reg delay.

But its not all ups. Shield health is on top of the armor. So if you take this perk you will feed more ult charge and also eat more heals if you’re close to full hp.

Honestly below mid because even with her max damage it’s not easy to get someone as they have to be careless + health buffs nerfed the mech elims a lot.

Umm… soo - more ult charge to feed to the enemy and longer stagger times?

This one is pretty good. There are heroes with better perks, but at least this one has synergy with her kit and so feels good to have. I think optimal use would be to have her tank on a front line like this:
– Take some damage (shield burn first)
– DM for 0.5 or so sec → refill shields
– Toggle DM off and while it’s on toggle CD, let the shields take some damage
– Toggle DM back on and refuel shields

depending on the situation, it could be a very long rotation game because while DM is offline it also recharges. Of course, her issue is that she can barely survive on a front line due to how flimsy the mech is, so … if there’s too much damage, this won’t work at all.

The way I saw it, it’s also slower and more sparse, so fewer of them have a chance to hit small targets. Not sure it’s worth it. And it’s most definitely not a a contender for the major perk spot.

The DVa minor perks are better than the hog major perks so stop complaining! Hog gets soldier shift on using breather as a MAJOR perk. Or he heals nearby teammates, on a tank that doesn’t play in the middle of the team and dives behind cover whenever using breather.

How is it a trade off, unless I’m reading wrong it’s just straight up buffs? Given almost every perk for every hero is just a buff.

It trades 150 armor for 150 shield.

Shield can be restored but armor gives more initial survivability.

It’s not a major trade-off, it’s mostly a buff all things considered, but it’s technically still a trade-off

It says health to shields, not armor. So shields are just better than health.

Then it’s a net buff. I wish it were armor instead.

I’m fine with it being health tbh. Since most of the perks have 0 downsides. A few do, but most don’t. If perks are too strong / too weak I expect devs will be making changes anyways.

Been thinking about this, it might actually be a huge sleeper buff for dva.
So dva stats right now is 375hp and 325 armor. So with the shield perk she gets
225/325/150, unless something change.
Heroes goes critical at 25%, which is 175hp for dva. This is usually the moment the supports starts paying extra much attention to you. But with dva (and the other tanks with armor) you want to keep them in the orange part of the health for maximum value. So with only a 50hp difference between critical and armor health the supports are going to get a lot more value from their burst heals since they will be healing armor instead of hp.

This also have some synergy with soldiers new healing and brigs pack. One brig repair insantly moves her from critical hp to armor.

In open Q its even worse. There all tanks have 150 less health so her new hp bar will be 75/325/150. She goes critical at 138 so she has 60+ armor that benefits from those perks.
