Seriously with 3s boosters I see so many braindead players being out of position 24/7 but it doesn’t matter because you have 3s flight AND a defensive ability that unlike any other soaks INFINITE DAMAGE. The character is braindead currently and unless you are on the much better team there’s no easy way to punish it.

finite: restricted to 2 seconds at a time
also finite: restricted to two types of damage, regular non-buildable projectile and hitscan
that leaves anything outside of the 2 seconds, beams, punches, charges, venom, fire, rocks.
Like 50% of damage is even theoretically stoppable.

this forums almost has as many dva players as forum players, good luck convincing them to nerf her

There are lots of ways to punish her. CC, Mei, positioning, ranged damage, beams, etc. And even if you don’t kill/demech, you still get a lot of ult charge if the enemy D.va is out of position.
And also, the DM doesn’t protect her from all sides, and if all that fails, pick sombra and disable her.
In short, git gud.

Actually, I made it back to diamond, cause Blizzard finally undid their hateful treatment of D.Va that basically had her deleted for a year.

Yeah I agree. And lots of other pros/streamers are saying D.Va is kind of busted as well, so at least I’m not the only one. It’s not even DM or her damage. She just didn’t need this mobility.

like what? McCree flash that she can eat and even if she doesn’t she has so many HP that McCree is an easy duel for her? Unless u land like 4+ headshots AND manage to dodge the matrix before the reload (if at any point you need to reload you’re dead 100%), Dva messes Cree hard.

Like Soldier that she can DM? Dva counters ALL DPS choices except Symmetra (troll pick), Sombra (more on that later) and… the end.
this doesn’t matter necessarily as you need to play an objective and Dva feeds also one of the strongest ult charges in the game very well, Nano-Boost to your Ana.
you have to be trolling to say this, currently Dva is played in OWL ONLY DUE TO MEI. You can eat Blizzard very reliably vs a Mei unless some sick Wall play happens. Overall if Mei was deleted from the game tomorrow Dva would be played maybe less in OWL aside from Dive comps. Overall even Mei’s primary after the huge nerf it got counters neither Dva nor Ball, you can comfortably escape with your mobility cooldowns from the multi-freeze.

Yeah I’ve been thinking this too and I’ve tried picking Sombra but here’s the thing. Sombra’s hack is a whopping 0.65s. Human reaction time is like 0.2s. So unless you are sleeping or Sombra comes from a very unpredictable angle (from high ground maybe? Which Dva is good at bullying people away from!), you have a massive 0.45s to turn your mouse 180 (or whatever angle you need) and poke Sombra down to cancel hack. tl;dr: maybe in gold/plat what you say is viable, in Masters+ definitely not I maybe hack a Dva 2x a game with Sombra and in no way I force her to swap.
No wonder your most played hero is Dva and you are 3.6. Let me guess, first season you got masters? You’re very delusional about you getting masters due to your skill vis-a-vis you getting it due to abusing a broken champ.

She neither made those metas, nor was broken during them. And GOATS could not have existed for so long and brought the game so close to death, had they just admitted not every problem is D.Va’s fault and actually made the changes necessary/introduced 2/2/2 instead of dumpstering D.Va.
But they have had a very bad habit for years of going: “Meta is strong? Nerf D.Va”. Lazy balancing that literally almost killed the game by unleashing double barrier on it. D.Va being dead is why there was no alternative to barriers.

didnt they buff her recently for a reason? was the buff too strong only blizzard knows i guess and if she is they will nerf her later heh
It was kind of a dumb buff. They should’ve done something for her survivability over Boosters. It’s now yet another situation where a hero is good because a single ability is pretty overloaded, and the rest of the kit is… meh, but because of that one ability, she’s gonna get nerfed.

her survivability was fine. Just not her meta. I wonder why when some hero like Sombra or Mercy is not meta people reconstruct that it’s fine yet when Dva is not meta she’s suddenly incredibly UP, has the biggest critbox in the game etc. etc.
Not like she has 10 advantages to compensate for her “weaknesses” like (pre-buff) 5s boosters, an ability that soaks INFINITE damage, a vast HP pool with tons of armor and an ultimate that does 1000 damage (instakill on anything besides a vaping Hog).
Mobility is survivability though, just one that you have to actively choose to use and when. Beefing up her health or stacking her with armor would have been passive survivability meaning the player does absolutely nothing and they are much more difficult to kill. Personally I think the mobility angle was a better choice as it rewards smart and active play.

Unless we’re gonna nerf some part of Hammond, then I don’t see the argument to revert the D.va mobility buff. Hammond has no critical hit box when in ball form, has a very small one when out of it, has virtually infinite mobility at his disposal and aerial access on cooldown, plus he also has hefty shields and much higher damage per second than D.va. If her mobility is broken suddenly, why is his kit not?

It doesn’t soak infinite damage, it soaks only projectiles for 2 seconds and then it’s on a 1.5 second CD and even then you have to wait for DM resource. If a Dva is out of position, punish her. Even if she flies away she’s still feeding.

Hammond doesn’t have defense matrix and his damage is also significantly lower than Dva at short range.
