D.va Call Down needs i-frames

tl;dr D.va should be invulnerable as soon as she calls down her new mech, like in heroes of the storm.

In a single-tank competitive format, D.va can’t afford to not be ready to fight. In OW1, it made sense for her to be vulnerable when calling her mech because there was another tank, but now, that’s simply not true. There is no one to cover for when she gets de-meched. D.va still has her launch-day blaring flaw: her crit box is at her center of mass. No amount of armor to HP ratio will fix that. A simple fix would be to let her call her mech in peace, even if it means lowering the damage it does.

call mech in a safe place

it’s the price you pay for the second life mechanic

why though? I don’t see a reason for it

I haven’t been having such a big issue with it, it’s harder to stay alive as mini-d.va due to not having a second tank, for sure, but calling the mech is usually not a problem. In general it’s pretty hard to get the right angle to be able to damage her during the process in the first place, If the DPS is really good, you can usually play around it by hiding before suiting up or you can risk it and maybe get a lucky kill or two through the mech stomp.

she’s already OP atm i dont see why forcing dva players to find cover before remeching is a bad thing.

Which is already pretty garbage in 5v5 since no tank on the field.

Yeah… you were the tank. Now you have a second shot at it.

Dva does already!! She is immune to stuns for a very short period of time after climbing into mech. (eg. shatter doesn’t stun, sleep doesn’t put her to sleep… etc)

As a Dva main, she’s already fairly strong right now, and I don’t want her to get nerfed into the ground lol. I don’t think she needs any buffs right now.

By this logic take a breather should be invulnerable to stuns and nade. Because we can’t afford to lose a tank.

D.va murders people with that mech drop and you want her to be invulnerable during it?

im definitely not saying i agree with it, in fact, i think it’s an outdated mechanic these days
it was cool the first few times and i got to call mech again without visiting the spawn room
then i played a scrim where i actually got staggered/slept and body locked for 7s straight and was killed as soon as our team got back
and realized just how awful it really was, and how it’s not worth it
id honestly rather just see the mech become tankier and only have gremlin dva pop out when she ults just because of how vulnerable call mech makes dva

If the baby dva is low, the support should heal her so she can safely re-mech.

Man this confuses me so much.
Since 2016 always when a DVA calls her Mech back I never shoot at the Mech until it looks like it’s moving and stuff. I always thought the mech has i-frames in the moment of call back.
I just played as DVa and called a mech back and it just insta exploded, I had no idea that could happen. My life is a lie.

DVa’s Pilot form getting i-frames tho… u’r out of ur god damn mind
DVa’s callback aoe size got super sized in OW2, she can get a pentakill with it if they all group up now. That thing is busted lol

Only if they remove the damage it does

This is not a good idea, you just need to learn to remech in a safe place if they were to make her invulnerable you would have a problem like with mercy mass rez where they made her immortal while rezzing
