I told our Soldier that he was dying too much and getting split up.
He replied swiftly with, “shut the f*** up dude our Symmetra isn’t doing anything!”
Right after he finished typing, he got insta-sniped again, even though we told him 7 times to stay out of Widow’s L.o.S. 
still tried to blame it on everyone else.

I can’t say I expect that much from plat.
This is true though. She has shields, and has always been used to pair up with any tank to start an aggressive push. How do you think Dva/Zarya was so popular? She works well with anyone.

Used well enough, she can be. But it’s always better to just have an actual barrier if possible.
“symmetra is amazing now” or when a DPS asks me to nano-boost them. I CHOOSE WHO GETS THE DRUGS

Dva Zarya is a free shatter for most riens, especially on ladder, and hog Zarya is just feeding ult charge and getting run over.
Zarya can’t follow Hammond into disruption drive, same with winston, and it’s hard to get charge with an Orisa who rarely peeks to take damage.
