And every game so far today that has been a loss has said “Consolation”, meaning that Blizzard acknowledged and purposely paired me with bad teammates compared to my opposing team. Lol… What?

Nah, i have to agree with the jawa here, The new system is just another shiny mirrors and trinkets and still obscure af, you have seen my pics you can get 3 matches in a row win with 0 deaths and never trigger winstreak, lose 2 matches and get hit with volatile, fight for my life and just get expected, curb stomp the enemy team and get uphill battle, in short the match maker and rank system its still bad af

They aren’t wrong. While it’s true that they are the common denominator, it’s an incredibly huge ask to expect one person to carry four others.
Bad teammates do exist, and you can get bad teammates several matches in a row. I’ve been ping-ponging back and forth between Gold 1 and Gold 2, and every time I begin to approach Plat 5 I get matched with a tank who plays into their hard counters and refuses to swap, at least one dps who’s somehow negative, and a support who barely heals.
The modifiers are bad and shouldn’t exist, and the mmr soft reset has left the metal ranks infested with a bunch of people who were boosted and haven’t even learned the basics of the game but somehow made it to Diamond and Masters last season.

I typically play against teams with either bad dps, or bad supports. Meanwhile I get paired with an endorsement 1 tank who’s got less than 100 hours played.

I’m not saying that the rank system is perfect. But an ENTIRE RANK? Nah. It’s not THAT bad.

A rank is 5 divisions and roughly 20 games. Unless this guy meant he dropped a DIVISION, it’s him.

ehhh not necessarily.
KarQ, a literal top 500 or at the very least grandmaster player in all of OW’s life, dropped to diamond [in season 9] because of the match maker being a 50/50 on who gets stomped or not.

I’d say it’s more likely to be a combination of both him and bad matchmaking. It’s easy to say it’s just him, but we don’t have replay codes nor do we have his history.

What I think is people want the matchmaker to carry them, if your not in coms during a COMPETITIVE GAME and the enemy team is your probably gonna lose.
But I will give benefit of the doubt for all the trash doom 1 tricks that seem to keep Plauging this game, if you get them on your team its just gg.

That sounds like the rank reset hit him like a brick, then he fell a bit because of a few unlucky games at the very start. That’s not the same as this. Most GM+ players were placed M5, so it only took a couple unlucky games to get to Diamond even for a T500.
If this guy fell an entire rank, that’s 20 smth games and not partially because of the reset.

Matchmaking can be responsible for some losses. Maybe even a small loss streak. But 20+ games? Nah. That’s all on him.

He was duoing with Flats most of the time. They were often dominating by the numbers and playing well. A lot of this is that many games now are indeed down to how well your dps plays and if they will counter swap to win. It could also just be some bad luck for them.
Or that you have say a dps moira that dies 16 times in a QP match along with a tank that does not hug corners and use LOS to save themselves. All while both of them ignore peeling for me as lucio in the back. I had more help from my sombra and ashe then moira and rein/orisa.

It is most certainly not a huge task to ask, because there is a huge difference in skill between true golds and true plats to where a player that was plat 3 last season is never going to be hardstuck gold unleashed they didn’t deserve plat in the first place because they’ll frag out until they get to the rank they belong in

The “consultation” modifyer only takes you into account not your team… i have stacked with friends and have lost and they have gotten the consultation modifyer where as i have not. Its not saying the opponents are better than your team it means they are better than you

That doesn’t really mean anything. Duoing doesn’t mean you can’t have a few unlucky games. Right after the reset it didn’t really matter who TF you were. A few bad games and you’d be Diamond. Not anything like it is now
Nah streak garbage will happen often.
Like if he continues to lose whole season ya, but one day is very much possible even when you are doing really well.
The game is legit good at finding uncarryabke teammates.

Idk the last game I played was labeled uphill battle and we rolled them hard. 4:20 time remaining after capping 3 checkpoints kind of roll. Their system cannot accurately predict games.
