Drive names - There is no way to unequip them?

I never wanted a drive name. Due to playing comp however I was forced to have the drive name. Now it wont let me unequip it? I’ve looked on the customization settings, but it only has banner, player icon and title, nothing for drive.

I’d really like to unequip the drive name so I and nobody else can see it on my account. I feel like I’ve been branded like a cow so everyone can see I’m a competitive player. I have irl friends I refuse to play competitive with and I’ve always told them “I don’t play comp” because they’re so bad at the game. Now next time I play with them they’ll 100% know I played competitive without them. It’s just silly we don’t have an option to equip / unequip it on the customization settings.

Many topics about this already.

Options → Gameplay → HUD → Show Drive Signature

But a better option would of course be not to lie to your friends.

i love the drive signature. Especially when i get POTG

Disabling your own drive is explained in the first reply. But what about stopping seeing others’ name drives? I honestly don’t care about them and I find them cluttering.
