When you select a DPS hero do you only focus on just countering DPS?
I’ll be honest with you I just instalock my main bc I wanna play them
depends on the map and what i feel like at the time, sometimes i’ll load into a match and go “mhm i feel like playing ashe” and so i will play ashe the entire match so on and so forth
I just play Ashe, or if Ashe has been locked and won’t let me have her, then Soldier.
Admittedly, just enjoying Ashe more than most heroes is a big reason, but also, she and Soldier are all-rounders and relatively independent in play.
If you main a projectile DPS, then I kind of feel like you have to also have a hitscan or Echo as a backup to deal with enemy Echoes and Pharahs, which kind of suggests to me you should main a hit-scan or Echo.
There’s really no overwhelming reason you have to have projectile heroes though. They might have marginally better shield break against double-shield, but generally speaking, you want to go around or walk through shields rather than breaking them down anyway, so meh.
instalock sombra or widow and lets go
No. I don’t care about their dps unless it is like a smurf Hanzo or Widow. I do go for Cree because an easy pick is an easy pick, same way people rush to target Zen.
I pick whoever I want to play and if I need to adjust, I adjust. If I’m Junkrat and the enemy has a pharah it’s an easy McCree switch if she’s popping off.
Really depends. I’m a Genji Main who also plays a lot of Reaper, Sombra, Mei and Doomfist. I play on Switch, so there’s a lot of enemy Junkrat/Pharah, so I also picked up Soldier to counter them.
Normally I’ll go Reaper rn as with Genji’s ult often get ulted by Lucio/Zen, Sombra if they have targets I can focus such as a good Mei/Tracer/Echo, Mei if we’re playing an agro comp, or DF when Mei isn’t working.
I usually pick one which depends on the map based on some memories I have
or if they have a Pharah I’ll pick soldier 76
here’s my full list if anyone wants to check it

Step 1: See what duo plays (specifically projectile or hitscan)
Step 2: Most duos are private, so just go what I think I can work with on the map
Step 3: McCree or Echo by default, because they’re the best, I play them a lot, and they fit most maps and comps
Step 4: Other dps goes hitscan or projectile (to match what i picked) so I change to the opposite (Mei if tank is Rein; Reaper if enemies have Hog, Monkey, or Ball; Hanzo if enemy has Orisa)
Step 5: lose cause I’m bad at dps
If I’m on hitscan it’s usually because I’m countering pharah, so I just focus her down.
I pretty much just pick Echo. If someone on the other team is giving us trouble I’ll switch to a counter.
Switch as in… swap? Or switch as in using your ultimate? Rofl.
“No you cant just stun me while i kill you’re supports
”
Hahaha mcree flash go brrrrrrrrr

In a 222 setting, I pick what’s missing:
- Other DPS chose Reaper. Missing range. Choosing ranged Hitscan.
- Other DPS chose Sombra. Missing damage. Choosing High Damage Focused Hero.
In other settings, anything goes.
I pick whatever I want to play that game and go from there. If we’re struggling and our other DPS is on autopilot, then I’ll consider switching to something else
Yeah, switch as in swap.
i play mei since she’s a knock off mcree
I only counter pick when absolutely necessary like against a pharmacy or doom or Winston etc.
Otherwise I just play my mains doom hanzo genji tracer torb.
Depends on what enemy team has as my team’s issue. If their ana is doing way too much w/o a pressure, she is my 1st target. If there would be any dps or peeler on my way - those are my main targets. It is like alghorytm. You describe issue on pieces, then you solve each piece.
