This has gotten completely out of hand. I am a 4200 dps player and it takes me upwards of 20 minutes to find a single game. I can’t grind ladder when more than half my time per day is spent sitting on the menu screen doing nothing. Something needs to be done to decrease queue times for dps players, because right now I don’t even feel like playing the game anymore.

I think their thought was that the 80% of players who prefer playing DPS would switch to other roles for some reason. Nah, people like 4-5 DPS in a game because those are the only heroes that are fun.

That may be true and depending on how low your regions population is, those queue times start at a much lower rank. Although over time people will start playing other characters, other roles and times will drop. Unfortunately not as much as we hope, as the cast of DPS heros is much larger.

Also because the majority of heroes are dps. :3 Count em.
Literally what you do when you lock in 4th dps and someone else had to either fill if they wanted to have a realistic chance at winning or stay on their hero and soft throw the game for everyone.
I was guilty of this myself on my dps only alt. I don’t mind waiting 10+mins now to play dps and not have to deal with that again.

It takes around 8 mins now to find a match for low diamond dps… and that’s a long time when a game can only last 10-15 mins, this system doesn’t fix anything except making the wait time for most of the hero way longer than before. I agree with you, but I don’t think they can fix it if the game is moving more towards MOBA. I mean as a first person “shooting” game, it really tries it’s best to prevent people from “shooting” with tank and healer, I wish OW heroes are like the legends from apex, I’d drop this game right now if apex wasn’t a Battle royale game…

I’m a RH main, actually. My main problem with role queue is that on some maps, I prefer to play a certain hero, frequently different when attacking or defending. But with role queue, it’ll stick me with a role/map combo I hate, almost always. It’s not fun.

Like I said in a thread I made, just give us the old Competitive alongside Role Queue. Call it Competitive Classic. Those who want the 2/2/2 will stick with Role Queue and those who want the old Competitive mode will go to Competitive Classic. Ez pz. I hate Role Queue, didn’t even believe that it was going to happen but here we are! I deal with it because I want to play Competitive. That’s really the only mode I play in this game. Screw the Arcade, screw Quick Play.

There’s just too many DPS plain and simple, they could fix this by releasing more tanks and healers which I’m sure they will in the future, but what ppl don’t want to admit is the game OW is not about DPS, it’s about tanks and healers if you actually want to win. If you don’t care about winning go play qp classic, DPS May be more fun to ppl but team balance is everything when you actually want to win

Games in qp classic are not as fun, because people don’t play seriously in qp, only competitive. But competitive is no longer fun because people were crying so hard they implemented a role lock system to make the game less fun for everyone.

I started to play support and tanks as dps when the wait times get too long. My main is low diamond and it sometimes takes 10+ mins of waittime. So yeah i play support but i do not heal 
Not my fault they added the system. And if one day i mighr get a ban so be it.

Exactly right, well said. The worst is dealing with cryers begging for heals, like they have a right to tell you how to play.

No, the devs thought locking everyone into a specific role for the entire duration of a match was a good idea, so ultimately it’s the devs fault. But it is also the criers who share some blame as well.
