You are supposed to go and kill the support in 5v5. Everyone keeps hard focusing tanks and are surprised they can take it. If you want to be able to focus tanks, then 5v5 is not for you.

-instantly get peeled by the current hypermobile meta heroes
-support hero dumps their abilities in self defense or just can run away
-support instantly gets pocketed by 2nd support and is now unkillable

Tank players still haven’t learned how difficult it is to kill a Support, let alone being isolated in the enemy backline against 2 Supports infinitely healing each other.

Originally could back in the beginning until Support players whined about it. Look where at now basically better than DPS than Brig and Juno
They are relatively difficult for me to kill these days. If I was a DPS, I would just sort of shoot at their head. But as Reinhardt, unfortunately they are not going down without some baiting. And sometimes it’s my ultimate that is what does the trick…

I just lost 2 bloody ranks because I was placed in team losing streak and EVERY SINGLE DPS only shoots the tank, die to Pharah. I have no idea how on earth these DPS got into Plats.

As someone who plays in platinum lobbies, I can confirm that the DPS just shoot at me. Albeit, it kind of actually works half the time.

First off, I’m a dps player, the name is from the OW1 days, secondly, Even with the tanks, the optimal strat is to hard target supports.
Right on the money, as usual. People in this thread are proving my point. They literally don’t know how to play 5v5.
Sometimes you literally can’t. The tank is protecting them too well and you can’t really do anything, or they have a very good defensive comp for that.
Say it’s Blizzard World and we’re on attack. The enemy team is Sigma, Widow, Soldier, Ana, Mercy.
If I try and aim at a support, either Sigma blocks it with his shield or Widow domes me. If I go around to the left, they’ll know because I’m not there anymore, and Widow will dome me or Soldier will kill me. The only real option is to just dump everything into Sigma and overpower him.
That’s when you just ignore the whole team and route far left with tank, then let them come to you since they lose sightlines.

Nobody said to never play with the team. Ironically some dps get so pewpew brained that they don’t do the simple routing that is needed to win.

Hey, I don’t like 5v5 either, and I don’t think this is engaging gameplay, but this is what 5v5 brings.
im a flex player i try to go after supports if i can sometimes its successful and sometiems its not but we honestly need a new team 4 like graphics and audio part of team can stay the rest let go (which includes the director being let go)
Much easier to just kill dps first and then supports become free and then tank gets staggered. sometimes you get the opportunity to kill supports first but most often it’s easiest to kill dps first. They have the same hp, are actually threatening, and are positioned more aggressively because they want to be in the line of sight of their supports.
Pretty much common sense to take care of the threat first.

Yeah just kill the easiest first and that is often dps except for when someone is throwing. There were times supps were the easiest to kill and they cried over and over again and Blizz buffed them.
Also, from the perspective of supps, surviving is much easier than helping teammates not dying.
