Anyone else think the overall quality of dps players has gone through the floor since they dropped role queue on us? Maybe its just me but every game ive played seems rife with dps players who couldnt hit a barn door.

where is role queue? are you talking about the fake comp season we have?
No clue, mine have been blasting the whole day to be fair.
Got a McCree that barely missed a shot, widow that kept killing everyone and so on.
Maybe it’s your rank at tank/heal being lower than your overall thus placing you with worse players.
I sorta felt that initially.
Moira. 20k healing.
Somehow Silver damage at 4k.
Needless to say, we lost that game.

If you are talking about Comp Mode, then I got some bad news for you, they are literally the same rank as you are.

It’s been 50/50 for me. I got several god widows and a few symms that weren’t the best
I keep getting Reinhardts that charge allllll the way to the enemy spawn because some enemy peeks from a corner. They die. We tend to lose.
The DPS weren’t stellar in my games either, but the Reinhardts were just Charge-happy.

there are going to be a lot of growing pains with this system. 2 dps every game has significantly raised the skill floor of DPS players in general. ranks will become more distinguished at the lower end and ranking will become more reliable to gauge a player’s skill in a role.
there are a lot of very bad dps players. It’s going to be a long and arduous process.
Easy solution to this problem? Stop being bad and add people you play with that aren’t smoldering dumpster fires. during testing on PTR, I added 3000% more friends than I have added in the 2 years I have played Overwatch.
works. before it used to be presumptuous to duo with someone and assume you’d get a reasonable team comp if you both played what you wanted. now it’s easy now that you can both do exactly what you want.
So if you’re a good dps player then add a good dps player. you should beat the socks off every team with bad DPS players.

Yes, it has dropped in quality… I don’t claim to be good by any stretch, I would let others judge that, but I am certainly not trash. But it seems every time I play tank or healer, I end up thinking to myself “if I don’t play dps, I will always end up with trash dps” which is a jerk thing to think… but cmon, role queue dps step it up!
I very often feel that our dps player (if I play dps) or players (When I play other role) are not worthy of that particular rank.
It could be better to reset everyones stats and make everyone start from 2000sr

Of course it has. Their MMR is still based on the combined MMR of last season, with only 5 placement matches to compensate, where you can get lucky in.
So good main healers / tanks with worse mechanical DPS skills get matched at too high MMR, same with good DPS going tank / support.

I VERY question this one. I don’t exactly like the idea of getting both GMs and silvers in my games at the same time. It’ll start to feel like coin flip win/loss again.
The reset would be pure chaos, yes. But it would get settled very quick.
Current comp is still chaotic and how many weeks passed already?
Every aingle match you have someone who has no idea whats he is doing
Because most are not DPS players , most are one tricks that only play Heroes like symmetra, torb or junkrat and can’t play anything else.
Before they would pick their one DPS hero they are good at and when things were not working out they would switch back to support or tank. Now they can’t do that.
So the blame on all this goes to people that cant play more than one or two DPS Heroes.
Real DPS players can play multiple DPS Heroes.
Like all the hits scans. Or all the projectiles. Or a combination of both.
The game would still be in chaos in the middle ranks and it would be like that for several months, unless every ow player in the world suddenly started to play the game.
This is also a problem, some heroes like Hog which is hardly a tank or Symmetra who is hardly a dps, those players occupy slots forno good reason

I mean the majority of the roster can’t be useful so don’t expect soldier to out dps orisa or hog when soldier’s job is to just shoot shields while the tanks can weave in and out of shields
