Dps passive broken

How we liking the dps passive? You can just get dived on and blow up and nothing can be done to help unless u ult, suzu or immortal field. Buffed healing but it does absolutely nothing with this passive. Great change blizz :+1:

I don’t understand why they didn’t change the tank resistant version of it if tanks are being too survivable?

Like the BEST way to play support now is… DPS

Because we already saw stronger DPS passive on tanks and it made tank unplayable lol

So now… DPS who aren’t Tracer, Freja, Genji, Sojourn, or hitscan get shafted

And supports who aren’t Ana, Kiriko, Lucio, and Juno get shafted

Fun fun fun?

Every time they do this it just breaks any semblance of game balance. All the supports who are reliant on healing become weak until they inevitably buff them again. All the damage heroes who suck at applying the passive get shafted. Fights without damage heroes drag on because of the inflated healing numbers without the passive. It’s just bad all around.

I don’t think it’s the tanks. I think it’s the pocket problem. But instead of dealing with that they just f’d over everyone. If the tank is the problem just counter them. With another tank or support.

Well people don’t like to swap in this game

Or if there is TOO much swapping people complain

There’s no just one band-aid fix

Lets say they nerfed all healing by 15%

Now heroes like Tracer, Genji, Sojourn, or Freja who are already the top of the top get even better

So now they need nerfs

But now tanks are too hard to kill because damage is lower

So we nerf tanks…

And it just loops

That has nothing to do with tanks?

It not the tanks fault that the blizzard balance team’s understanding of overwatch is equivalent to a herd of elephants.

Tanks have a reduction to the DPS passive ontop of the headshot damage reduction

So they just naturally survive more abuse

So then they have to make both DPS who can damage them and supports who can heal them

But then we forget that DPS can shoot eachother; and supports can heal other things than tanks

mercy feels really bad, really bad now.
i get an ok amount of total hp on her, but she

  1. feels bad to play with my playstyle (i like doing tight top-up micromanaging like illy’s pylon when no one stands to gain from a boost.)
  2. doesn’t help anyone win duels. time now works against mercy and not with her.

so what my type of mercy wants most is the exact opposite of where they’re going with debuff changes: i need to heal more up to ~60%hp with a falling gradient, just like they trialed with her around s9.
top ups to 100 are pointless now bc of passive heal, so mercy has low value for healing 80->100.
saves under fire (within the 2s(?)) are implausible bc any dps will melt my dps patient, so mercy has very low value for healing as it’s going 50->0

what’s left within healing? topping up in the small window between dps passive end (2s?) and heal passive start (6s), when no one is shooting anyway, maybe behind shield.

i’m not feeling it habibis, she’s becoming a boost bot.

she should get some incentive to heal at the right time. maybe “heals xx% more when target is between 25-55%”

This problem has existed even before 5v5 uber tanks.

It’s a chicken or the egg situation. Which came first, burst damage intended to combat the immense healing. Or burst healing intended to combat the immense damage.

Has nothing to do with tanks and everything to do with the balance team having absolutely zero idea what they are doing. They put us in the mess and can’t get us out. Too many problems exist at one time. Sustain is too high, uber tanks are a problem but can never be fixed due to the format, burst damage is insanely broken, DPS are better enablers than tanks at this point because nothing dies without the dps passive.

All that sprinkled with everyone having bloated HP pools that have yet to be removed since season 9.

So far, and this is largely anecdotal, I’m not having trouble keeping my teams alive with several Supports. And even on the Damage-role, there’s been a few heroes where I’m struggling to make kills against attentive healers.

It is rare that I find attentive healers to combat with, and it is rare I can find a competent co-support who heals as well as I do, but the passive doesn’t seem to be having too much trouble, right now.

Lucio, and Moira were the particular supports I first tried, and will attempt some more games with, but their new buffs have made it much easier to keep my teams alive - well Lucio’s has, Moira’s still overkill on healing so it never really mattered.

Need to try Baptiste, and Lifeweaver, but I’ve observed a lot of Lifeweavers doing really well in keeping their teams alive with the new Life-Grip Perks. He’s been slowly climbing up the ranks.

Reaper, Soldier, Venture still doing quite well.

Mei still in her own niche.

Bastion still kinda sucky.

Hanzo could be better.

Nobody kills Pharah, so still dominates. As does Ashe, Cassidy.

Still need to see more games, it’s only been a day, but the Damage-role still does well enough in 5v5 and 6v6.
