We all know that the amount of Damage players in this game is alarming and problematic at best.
But I think the Devs have found the right solution with role queue.
I hope that eventually the excess Damage players will learn to play Tank/Support out of desperation or just leave altogether.
Thank you so much Devs I love my free credits and lootboxes. I also love how well designed and fun the Support and Tank classes are. I hope everyone learns to play them and enjoy them.
I have to say, I lose another small bit of faith in humanity every time I see one of these “I’m glad others are suffering” threads. It doesn’t make much sense to label anyone else as selfish with that mentality.
It’s a shooter game, not WoW or MMO PVP. It’s only fitting that it has more characters to kill people than classes to buff and soak damage, it’s what most people find fun about the first person combat experience. The whole holy trinity thing rammed into an FPS shell is kinda cringe and fail, and is the main issue here.
Even my fallback game at this point Dirty Bomb, while it lacks tanks even the medics are more combat classes with out of combat healing and quick revives for downed targets. Aside from the Aura station medics in DB can’t keep anyone up through sustained fire and sitting on one of those makes you a pretty easy target for explosives or surprise buttstabs from Phantom.
And there’s tons of video games out there that don’t require team strategy to win. But that would probably mean having to play a video game by themselves because they’re all mostly RPG games.
Yes, having a game design that punishes the way people want to play the game and have the most fun is a good thing…or it is just terrible game design probably the later
