I’m in masters for both DPS and Support and I’m starting to loathe this map and it’s all because of the first push, if your on the attacking side and don’t commit to full dive with picks like Genji, Tracer, D.va or Winston, Kiriko and Brig for example then it’s pretty much GG because good luck contesting the high ground that has clear sightlines to 3/4 spawn doors and has a team of Sigma, Soldier 76, Widowmaker or Ashe, Baptiste, and Illari perched up on it.
From my experiences in comp and QP this is by far the easiest map to get spawn trapped on by attack especially when your tank runs something like a Junker Queen, Reinhardt, Orisa, Ramattra, or Zarya. This map is in desperate need in a rework because man I used to absolutely love this map and now I dread the match to come when I see it on the loading screen.
All you need to do is take right path go up the stairs and play on highground , you will force them to go back , then you would be able to push payload. This game is all about dominate space
And they’ll know you’re coming from that side, any team with any functioning brain cells will know that. All I’m asking is something similar to the Gibraltar or Route 66 rework that’ll give some cover that will cover those doors a bit.
And this is why you stop being masters and go to gm1 at least, where people understand how the game works and have the experience to play in that way. Well, more chances at least, ngl, stupid players are everywhere and the MM is a dream core.
I don’t think my point is invalid because there is one rank where you actually do get useful teammates. It’s factually correct that some maps like Havana, Numbani, and Dorado do need some adjustments like Gibraltar and Route 66 got so they fit in more with how OW2 is played.
It is not just about the rank, my friend, it is more about the goal of the game - to be better and that’s the only point of playing competitive games in general. You get rewarded for dedication with better matches quality but punished if you are washed up for taking long breaks.
They walked backed on PvE, no way are they ever going back to 6v6 under any circumstances. If you thought the PvE was a massive blow to OW’s reputation then this would be an even much bigger blow due to the fact that there would be zero reason to even call this game “Overwatch 2”.
This map is just outdated in design and not suitable for OW2 5v5. I always tell my teammates to secure the high ground and don’t just let the enemy stay up there on attack while pushing the payload. Sometimes they listen, most times they don’t, so I usually have to take the matters into my own hands.
The map needs a rework IMO. I also hate Numbani first point for similar reason, and I actually think it’s even worse than Dorado.
This map is honestly not that bad because you are literally at enemy spawn. You still have spawn advantage. Its more likely you get stuck at 1st point archway.
Numbani I feel is the worse map to assault in regards to the not picking dive part.
OW has sank lower than any could think possible lol. 5v5 basically demands massive changes to entire character kits and map layouts. With Microsoft acquiring Blizzard the dev team just needs to suck it up and undo the mistakes. This game has mega potential but it’s held back so hard.
