Doomfists passive is really bad

He might as well not have it really. with how little shields he gets and the fact that any shields he does generated deay at such a fast rate.

The point of his passive is to allow him to stay in the fight by being in the fight but nothing if farther than the truth.

Easy fix
2 out of 3 of Doomfists abillitys do different amounts of DMG depending on how long you charge them up SO the more DMG you do with an ability the more shields you get.

75% of all ability DMG done by Doomfist is converted into shielding boom done, Doomfist is now more viable, easy.

So if i land a fully charged RP i get an instant 187 shields, maxing out my shield count

im going to say no as well. but buffing the healing on his shotgun i would support.

You aimed the ridiculously small hitbox that is Rocket Punch, fully charged it up which announced your location to the whole enemy team toss yourself into the middle of the enemy team, not only hit your target but lined it up so they hit a wall and you got a kill.

Yes you get 187 shields. though it would cap at 150 since that’s that cap.

I think that might be kinda op tbh,

187 shields every 4 seconds might be too much without counting uppercut and slam and ult, doomfist woulfd basically be an immortal god

how many Doomfists do you see getting a kill with a fully charged Rocket Punch every 4 seconds?

it’s really a hard thing to balance, if doomfist’s survival goes up too much then he really has nothing to fear when he jumps into a firefight. He’s already pretty mobile and supposed to be a high-risk high-rewards kind of playstyle

30 shields/ability doesn’t seem like much, but it’s enough to get the pick, and get out if you play it smart. I assume you must’ve used that to good effect to climb in comp?

Its an estimate, to a more realistic example

I use full charged rp on their hog, getting my 150 shields, boosting me up to max, then i take a bit of damage, which then i use my ult on the enemy team hitting atleast 2 people,getting yet other 150 shields, by that moment if i use the full duration of meteor strike i have RP off cooldown, yet another 187 shields,

Slam at its bare mimimun gives me 37 shields, at max, 93 shields
Uppercut giving other 37 shields

250 Base hp
( 37 - 150) Shields from rp
( 75 - 150) shields from Meteor strike
(37 - 93) Shields from Slam (it can hit more than one target, but this is so uncommon im not taking this into consideration)
37 shields from uppecut,

For a grand total if all abiilities land at their best conditions: 430 shields, If you add another RP from Ult stalling (cooldown of rp and ult duration match) it woukd be 580 shields, Bare minimum would be 242 if all abilities land at their worst,

A good doomfist would be hell, it might be too much

honestly, percentage based might not be the best.

as magy pointed out, that would mean 187 shields for a punch or 75 shields if you decide to use just the actual punch damage (the 100 damage from a fully charged punch).

if you lower the percentage to 50, this would still cause problems as his punch would give him 125 for punch and wall. or 50 for just the punch. At the same time this would mean uppercut would only give 25, lower than current.

The buffs I have seen suggested multiple times are either:
A: bump up the shields to either 35 or 40 instead of 30
or
B: give him 30 temporary armor (kind of like what Brig gives) instead of shield.

Then change it to 65 or 55 %. bottom line he needs more shields.

Plus the example you gave is a redicusly rare one and not taking into account that Doomfist can only ever have 150 shielding at a time AND assuming that he lands his abilities at full blast every time.

with 75% hield from DMG Doomfist would have a strong initiations into fights but loses steam as the fight goes on since he gets less time and worst positioning to proper charge up all his abilities

Not at all, ive multiple times as doom landed a good rp, then uppetcut and slam, then press q, stall 4 seconds, use meteor, Rp again and slam / uppercut

Its a nice combo, but remember i looked at both everythinh landing correctly at its best and everythinglanding correctly at its worst

What i meant with my example is that he could cycle his attacks carefully and have a perma 400 hp

I feel like just remove decay on the shields. He’s already a glass cannon in my opinion and requires a lot of healing

Doomfist requires a lot of planning,

Your better off staying behind your shields using ur shotguns until you see someone alone, killl them then gtfo

Another survival buff I have seen suggested a few times is that if they don’t want to buff his passive, swap a certain amount of his hp with armor.

Or just make his passive give armor
