It will happen eventually. I’m betting within the next 3 patches. I don’t advocate for his nerf, but I just know it will happen. If history has taught us anything, enough complaints on this forum WILL lead to a balance change.
Sorry Doomfist mains. It happened to us all. Time to join Tracer, Genji, Widow and Hanzo.

I would prefer a rework but I doubt that will happen. His entire kit is designed to make people hate playing the game.

I agree with his nerf but yeah, seems that Blizzard never want to nerf another heroes.

Yepp, Blizz will probably do a bandaid ‘fix’ that makes him weaker and focus on reworking more neglected heroes like Reaper.
He really does flat out ruin the experience of the game when played correctly. The other side of the issue is when he isn’t played correctly he’s just a free ult charge. Terribly designed hero.

I can’t wait for doom to get nerfed because then “X” hero is going to be named OP. and then said hero will be nerfed because thousands of people are sick of that hero. and then another hero and another hero. It’s a cycle of people complaining.
look what’s happening with Ana and people complaining about her because mercy was nerfed and now she’s the meta and now all of a sudden she’s OP? get a grip.

I think a 5 second cooldown on Rocket punch is an inevitability.
Enjoy your instant-microwave nerf DF mains!11!

I really am surprised how such small adjustments took Doomfist from a throw-pick (who was well respected when played well!) into such a hated and often dominating force. Or has it been more a matter of greater exposure and reliability due to the bug fixes?
Regardless, I find the journey of Doomfist in intriguing one.

It’s more of the reliability from bug fixes. It’s not the shield buff. It’s that his abilities have become more consistent when used properly
It’s a shame that people find him so oppressive, when he isn’t. He spends most of my games getting domed or hacked.

I was more thinking of the Meteor Strike speed buff which seems to have done more to bump him up than the shield buff.
His core routine really hasn’t changed that much. The fixes to Seismic Slam are probably more important than the changes to Rocket Punch in terms of securing kills. It interesting, regardless.
Every character will get buffed and nerfed in the future.
Mark my words.

Doomfist will only get nerfed after they make a large number of doomfist statue sales. Though in my opinion he probably doesn’t need one.

It wasn’t his minor buff. It was his many bug fixes.
And don’t get me wrong - every hero deserves bug fixes. Now we have a more consistent Doomfist who is doing what he should have been doing from the get-go, but was previously crippled by so many bugs after his hitbox took a nerf, that we never saw his potential.
With more bug fixes and consistency, we’re seeing what he does…and it’s probably the most anti-fun thing I’ve experienced in the game lol.

Meteor strike still isn’t a reliable way to get kills. Doomfist’s “reliable” killing combo has always been with seismic slam into uppercut, but both seismic slam and uppercut were bugged to hell, along with rocket punch which is used more for mobility and cheeky kills than for anything consistent.
But in making his abilities more consistent, he’s killing more. More cheeky kills are appearing in the kill feed, more people are getting hit by seismic slam to uppercut and dying before they can kill the doomfist. He is securing kills and people are living less to bugs, and that’s why he seems so strong.
I’m one of those rare few that never really thought Doomfist was OP. Buggy as hell, sure. But aside from the bug-fixes I feel like he’s been fine since he joined the roster. He’s also got a relatively high skill-ceiling and doesn’t reward braindead plays. So I hope they don’t nerf him; good Doomfist players are usually very respectable and I don’t want them to suffer for no good reason.

This will always be the case. Changes, changes, and more changes. The game will always be in a constant state of flux.
