DOOMFIST rework ideas

Idea 1

Remove the current slam and block and give back his old abillities.

Powerblock especially does not fit his kit his a mobile character, with a slow almost useless block, doomfist in OW1 was surviveable because of his high mobility.

Give Punch verticallity this makes him accessible in all ranks without techs, allows him to keep all his old techs and old abillities from OW1, with a nerfed damage, higher mobillity punch the techs you could do with this would be really interesting.

Would make him probably alot more fun than his current punchbot gameplay.

Maybe not quite as much verticallity as in this video but enough to access highgrounds like dorado.


Idea 2

Another idea which doesn’t add or remove abillities.

Increase punch damage 120 max (Wall+Hit)

Empowered fist no longer amplifies damage and only applies stun (Stun duration decreased slightly.)

Slam cooldown reduced to 5 or 6 seconds.

Buff meteorstrike to actually do damage, or make it incredibly low cost so you can get it almost all the time so its almost like another aspect of his kit.

Lower powerblock cooldown or make it immune to CC.

I think the vertical punches are a good idea, but it doesn’t need to be combined with a complete reversion of his kit. Vertical punches kind of opens space to keep the power block in the rising uppercut slot, then they gotta work on its CD, charge gain and charge decay from it (to promote his punch damage) and its resistance.

I think the vertical punch would be insane to add to the game actually so fun to use.

It’s amazing how much better that April fools patch would’ve been as the overwatch 2 update than what we actually got.

And I don’t mean this for Doomfist- but all heroes.

I really feel they missed the opportunity to make big changes to all the heroes like this, to really shake things up for everyone and make 2, feel like an actual sequel.

Doom don’t need buffs that that’s simply increase numbers of damage. He needs complete rework, different skills, different ult.
