Doomfist = New Genji?

A lot of people on here seem to despise the poor man. Reminds me of the time when almost every thread on the front page of the old forum was filled with “GENJI IS COMPLETELY UNEQUIVOCALLY OVERPOWERED” threads.

nah, genji was OP and needed some tweak.

doom is a bit weak and if anything needs some buffs. this makes the two vastly different.

He just barely become viable, and BOOM!, the nerf threads returned.

I am starting to think that this forums want bad heroes like DF to stay bad, and Blizzard should never touch them because they should forever be bad.

He got one fix but he has never been changed…the last “nerf” he got was in 2016.

jesus please no we dont need another OMG i cant deal with another skill character so
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE posts meta

that is the reason this game has gone to the ground, each time they cry blizzard responds.

false. Even in his own meta he was subpar and was just a worse Tracer

That is just because Tracer was mega OP. I think Genji was okay since triple jump nerf

Doomfist’s mobility is a lot more limited than Genji’s mobility, his lack of Deflect makes him a lot easier to focus fire and his Meteor Strike is way weaker than Dragonblade.

The advantage Doomfist has over Genji is that he is a lot better at bursting if he can setup his combos. The situations you would pick Doomfist over Genji is if you want a pick that works well against tanks, especially such as Brigitte and Orisa where he just punches through their shields for full damage.

Doomfist is perhaps slightly more favored in the current meta than Genji due to Brigitte’s presence, but I would not call either of them meta. Junkrat tends to be favored over him due to his ability to pick Brigitte apart without having to overextend and also good at destroying the enemy Reinhardt’s shield.

Like Genji, he’s not overpowered. Also like Genji, he’s still extremely annoying, feels cheap, and isn’t fun to play against.

Plenty of arrogant turds that play him too.

This ,let’s also not forget the “takes no skill” salt mines

Of course they do. He feels terrible to play against, why would anyone other than Dommfist mains want him to be viable?

People figured out how to play him and use him effectively and now he’s op

Mains genji and widow

Talks about other heroes not deserving to be viable because they’re not fun to play against

lol

This. I think I will start using him…

And? He is still right.

Genji does not stun lock you to the point where you feel completely helpless not to mention that he is not even really viable right now. Getting killed by Widow can be frustrating but at least you know that you were killed by a skillshot. Doomfist feels bad to play against and is not that difficult to use which is a very bad combination.

He’s difficult to be effective with. You can just spam rocket punch like an idiot and never get anything done or you can learn the actual combos and hard carry games. Then on top of that you need to learn rollouts on the individual maps to take him to the next level.

You know what genji also is ? much harder to hit and can kill you with your own bullets ,which feels terrible.

Go try doomfist in a competitive setting ,tell me how he’s “not hard to use”

I’d even argue that if you have any sort of experience in FPS games ,he’s a lot harder than widow ,and I can easily argue that he has a much higher skill floor than genji. (Go to my profile and check my hours ,just incase you think I’m biased on this comparison)

Honestly, I think people just don’t like dying to DPS…or just dying in general.

I mean, despite the MOBA elements, Overwatch is still an objective-based FPS.

…and you die a LOT in FPS games.

With that in mind, there is a decent number of people who play Overwatch that isn’t actually used to the nature of FPS games and tend to grow frustrated with the constant deaths.

Every time a new Damage hero rises to the top of the Damage-Hero totem pole, the forums generally want them nerfed (also Roadhog).

I don’t fault them for being frustrated, but I do think that their claims are a bit ridiculous at times.

You can actually compare them.

They fall out in the same category, DPS and Dive. Both being really not in a good spot currently makes the situation even better. _You can compare Joe Montana to Tom Brady, but you can’t compare Joe Montana to Lebron James, since there isin’t any connection.
