It’s because Doom mains are even more delusional than Genji mains. They’re convinced that their main is terrible because they such at them. Then they spam the devs for buffs.

It’s hilarious how good Doom actually is, look at the Korean OWCS.
There was a guy who made a thread literally saying to IGNORE THE EVIDENCE and that Doom sucks.
Was pretty funny.

Doom is good. He is not the best tank. He is not even a top 3 tank right now imo.
You can talk about league and top 500 all you want, and I’d actually be interested to know pickrates and numbers, not anecdotal “i SeE hIm AlL tHe TiMe!!”
But for the high majority of players in this game, I’m not buying the theme of theme of this thread. Doom didnt need a nerf or a buff imo, he is fine, bugs not withstanding. Devs give buffs to heroes randomly sometimes (do y’all really need examples?). And we havent even seen official patch notes yet.

Context is everything. Also, Doom’s buff is more of a consistency thing than anything else.

Fair. Kudos to you.
I feel that way about Widow. Unreasonably want her nerfed to the ground. She is the epitome of what OW2 shouldnt be imo.
Totally biased take, flawed in all likelihood. But I couldnt care less. I want her pickrate lower than Sym’s. Thats an Ow game i’d enjoy a lot more

Problem is they buff the weirder areas and then nerf something unrelated in his kit. So he ends up feeling lopsided overall like a seesaw all the time.
Bug fixes should be addressed first over buffing/nerfing him imo.

They did do a bunch of bug fixes that no doom below high masters have encountered but every one of them will complain endlessly even though it doesn’t even affect gameplay in all but the most nice scenarios
Doom needs no nerf he is in a good place.
His punch-jump is the buggiest mechanic I have ever come across in OW. His hitbox for his punch is wonky af too. Its easy to fly throw a group of enemies missing everyone. Its also possible to slide up enemies instead of punching them if you’re not on level with them. There are more, you want me to go on?
Your take is not from someone whose put time into Doom, imo.
It’s not, certainly. But I did go through the list and some of these bugs are truly very rare cases.

They said they are changing have the roster if every tanks buffed why shouldnt doom be buffed and hes not that good yes mid hes just good in amazing players hands and that buff is to his ult whith is bloody useless
True, a majority of the bugs are very corner-case-like.
But the sheer amount of them… bugs still crop up on the reg in normal games for fist daddy, trust.
nerfing doom isnt going to change anything, the best players will still dominate with him, he would just become unplayable in any elo below gm
the state of the game is dive oriented, that is why dive heroes are good right now, there really isnt much more to it than that

Well since my reply got removed I’ll say it again in very simple terms.
Nerfing the 5th best tank is a very not smart idea. The buff isn’t going to change much, and I’ll agree it’s a stupid buff anyway.
They shouldn’t be adding all these cosmetic changes to his ult, just make it charge really fast to make up for the fact it’s basically a tracer recall, for an ultimate ability. It’s trash.
Sigma is still better. JQ is still better. Dva is still better. And there’s an argument for ram.
