Not sure why a tank with ultra mobility is allowed to instantly delete squishies. The only counterplay is hoping your team is better and can coordinate. There’s no individual counterplay to fighting a doom. And no Ana isn’t a counter, he trounces her. An: yes I’m serious, I will not be gaslit by the doom players any longer

Mauga is a doom counter. He shreds the dude and his ult turns him into a literal potato who can’t do anything.
But yes, playing against Doom is glorified babysitting and extremely unfun.

Sombra and Orisa completely remove him from the game.
People would enjoy the game more if they understood Blizzard has never, and will never, care about balance. It doesn’t exist, it purposely doesn’t exist. It’s an awful decision but pandering to the low skill crowd is the only way Blizz can draw in players these days.
Don’t mind me, I’m just leaving this comment here to enjoy reading the disaster this thread will devolve into once the 3-4 doom OTPs on this forum see it and write multi-paragraph essays in response telling us why he’s actually bad.

Orisa’s spear stops, and resets the cool down, of Dooms damage absorb. The spear is one of the easiest attacks in the game to land. Building up charge with that ability is nearly Doom’s entire kit. Orisa absolutely erases Doom.
Orissa isn’t good at peeling though. An average Orissa will beta an average doom player, yes. But a good doom can outplay a Orissa as long as she’s the only counter in the game. Just dive the supports and Orissa is forced to peel. Once her back is turned, your team can literally just mealy her. Orissa thrives when the enemy stays in front of her the white match, something doom can avoid doing.

Ana, dart and nade
Mauga, basically ignore his block
Pharah, airborne
Cassidy, hinder
Ball will outlast him and can pursue
Junkrat, trap, he will inevitably land on it
Hog, hook and trap
Orisa, CC immunity and negate shotgun
Sombra, disable block/ movement for a moment
Mei, slow, get back like 70% of her hp, and wall
Tracer, high mobility, will basically only lose if he slams her into a wall with RP and reacts in the 0.4-0.7 seconds with a full head shots at point blank
Sym and Torb, their turrets laying suppressive fire, Torb can use his as a shield, and Sym’s slows him
Moira, her orb will hit him in the back in just about every fight for a time
Bap, if Doom doesn’t knock him out of him IF, he’s going to waste precious time shooting it instead of a guy who can kill him in 5 bursts (OQ) and will basically get 2-3 free bursts in with now easier to hit bullets
Genji, high enough mobility that he’ll really only ever lose the same way Tracer will.
There’s plenty of people who stand a fair chance of winning if not outright hard counter him

Symmetra?? torb??? Lmao. And acting like Slowing Doom does anything is so funny when he has two abilities that just instantly jolt him across the entire map regardless of speed debuffs. Funny stuff

As doom main I can recommend this.(I change to sigma when facing them)
I play alot of doom but when im on dps or support i dont really have problems with a enemy doom maybe its just cuz i know what he wants to do and i dont let him do it or maybe im just better then them who knows.
What i do know is tho that if you really wanna shut down a doom every role has a few options to totally shut him down or make his life way harder and thoes that can’t well its a skill issue because on genji its ez mode same goes for brig/ana

Sure there is individual counterplay to Doom. I can beat him in a mirror 
Naw but seriously. Just play Lucio and hug the ceilings, you’ll be fine.
Sombra, Brig, Ana, Cassidy, Hog, and Orisa all do a pretty good job of stopping or slowing him.
