What are your experiences countering Doomfist? I find him extremely hard to deal with and in my opinion he is one, if not the most, annoying tank there is.
He straight up dives your backline, cassidy’s nade and hacking him doesn’t even do any justice cause he puts up the arms and he’s outta there like superman in a jiffy.
Any tips / thoughts?
Sombra makes him unplayable. Orisa contains him too. Mauga melts him.
If I am on Reinhardt, he is definitely oppressive. I “one trick” Reinhardt in competitive which can definitely make these encounters problematic. He is entitled to all of my shatters…
If it is quickplay, I just swap to Hog and eviscerate him. I barely even play Hog anymore, but a Doomfist who won’t stop punching me is begging for Roadhog to ride again.
If you play Tank, Orisa or Mauga, even Hog or Zarya can do good. As DPS, Sombra, Mei or Torb can be pretty useful. As Support, I usually play Ana to Sleep and Nade him out of existence, or play Moira or Kiriko to run away from him.
Ana, Sombra, Cree, Orisa Javelin, Hog Hook, Sigma Rock all destroy his ability to exist.
The problem is it takes an entire team swap to counter a good Doomfist and most won’t swap or have the skillset for the heroes that counter him.
Not quite true though… Need more than just Sombra.
As a Doomfist Main, or ex-doomfist main since game is so bad as it always been since it started, I say just get your team to coordinate with you and hard counter the living hell out of him so he doesn’t have fun.
Game is so counter-based it is actually crazy that they are taking the counter element and make braindead no-skill patches in the game and over tuning every hero. Still, you have to play your counters good but if the Doomfist knows how to play against the counters, then you’re just done.
ngl if the doomfist can play against all his counters then its definitely a well deserved win anyway.
btw in the same boat as you, game is glorified rock paper scissors.
Yeah, developers don’t do anything about the game that they only care about the money, they just don’t know what they are doing so they over tune every hero wrong instead of bringing 6v6 back.
They’re sensitive to swearing too apparently when I tried to make that post. What a joke this company has become
oh I’ve been banned a few times on the forum for poking fun at the swearing thing. I’ve actually just made a post about it tbf lmao. But yeah 100% in agreement. Its pathetic

yep I have, speaking from experience. The mods silence anything that critiques the game from that perspective. For example, I even got banned the other day for saying this:

Fun fact, even us having this discussion puts us at risk of getting banned, thats how tyrannical this company has become.
For example here I’ve broken the ‘can’t criticise moderation’ rule.
I was about to say, I might just make a video over that critiquing them instead but I’d doubt that get any views either. If they know they’re ruining the game and silencing our criticisms, then they are full well trying to kill the game for sure.
yep, I absolutely despise the direction its taken. Its become a snowflakey mess, brittle to the touch to the point where you can’t say anything negative about it even if said criticism is completely fair and valid.
I know full well I’ll get banned, silenced flagged blah blah for having this conversation. But the worst they can do is permaban me. Couldn’t give less of a F- can’t say this word because its really offensive to our playerbase!!!
Well, whatever happens happens. Like the fact that they don’t ban anyone saying threats or racial sayings at all and now act like whiny babies over simple swear words any 10 year old could’ve learnt watching some Robot Chicken or whatever and ban you over that. Anything really now and days.
I’ve been playing this game since late December of 2019 and I have to say I rather prefer the moderation back then during my time of Overwatch 1 than what we got now.
oh I agree, I started playing in August of 2016. Loved the game till about 2018, then we had the whole brig, goats, role queue fiasco. All spiralled from there, just didn’t realise how much deeper the spiral could go with Aaron in charge.
I mean game was bad when Kaplan was a thing, no hate to him but she should’ve been nerfed the instant she was released. I wasn’t around during those times but I know for a fact that is why they switched to role queue now because they couldn’t handle or fix the goats meta.
And when double shield came along, they reverted to 5v5 which was worse, resulting in way more steamrolls and snowballs if even one person died in your team. Not to mention the game turnt free to play back then so you had new players messing up your games when they probably came from other games included.
And when everyone complained to the devs about the game, they overtuned everything wrong with each hero… and that is where we are today.
pretty much, I would give anything to play OW1 1.0, it wasn’t balanced don’t get me wrong. But damn, the game was simpler and it actually felt like it had a personality.
Every hero now is just some homogenised mess, you have damage dealer, damage dealer with healing abilities and damage dealer with large health pool. All designed around a horrific hard counter philosophy.
Aarons slowly been stripping away layer by layer of what made OW, OW. Thing is, they took OW1 away without us having a say. Then they wonder why people are upset.
Talk about Game of the Year, am I right? They are just killing this game slowly and it’s working, I already quitted the game since Season 10 released after what seems to be a few days.
Not to mention, I was listening to a commentary channel back at the time and they said that OW2 and OW1 were going to be separate games. Now we have this bullsh- where everything is so countered based to win, wasn’t like that in Overwatch 1.
Counters were still a thing back then, but it just felt so much easier to have better gamesense, ult track, coordinate better with teammates with the rank they actually deserve and so on. It felt so smooth back then, I don’t even care if double shield were thing still, I’d still rather have that than what we got now today.
We just have a bad battle pass, everything pay walled when we got our stuff from loot boxes, them selling event skins and so forth.
