One of the best win rates of all tanks Plat and above. High pick rate at most ranks. Overall also one of the best win rates and pick rates…
Yet somehow people think doom sucks, he is hard, and he needs buffs.

That’s the forums for you.
doomfist could have a 1% winrate and I’d still be saying he’d need nerfs
Well he is, that’s why those people ask for buffs, cause skill issue
Doomfist mains will always complain even when he is in a relatively good spot.
He literally isn’t. “HARD” characters don’t have high win rates in silver. Ever. its not a thing
DF isnt bad at all but winrates is a useless stat.
There is literally no point on discussing winrates from Overbuff since its a borderline worthless stat without pickrate.
Well,…i hate him when im not sombra but yea goes to show his weakness is denying his abilities. Still doom has it easier compared to old lock out sombra
I do go ana if i play support and see him but yea someone has to make his life hard. Come to think about it… when im support and i see a sombra on my team with an enemy doomfist the sombra either avoids him or is just a non factor… probably a quick play and my elo thing
Too much mobility + too much survivability in the hands of good players with him.
I agree he needs some nerfs-adjustments.
DF mains are like Genji mains, their character is always weak, the most difficult to play, has the most/easiest counters, is only popular because they’re fun and it has nothing to do with them being easy/cheesy/strong, is having their stats misrepresented purely by one-tricks making them seem better than they are, and is always deserving a buff.
Trying to talk to them about the truth in this reality is a waste of time, they aren’t smart enough, nor are they willing to accept anything outside of their delusion and victimhood.
Not to mention he holds Quick Play hostage and makes it miserably, dull, and a boring stress-fest. The character is pure definition of “what is teamwork” and ego-stunting for the sake of it. I hated him in OW1 and now I despise him in OW2. Bad DFs, good DFs – it doesn’t matter. They’re all insufferable morons.
Here’s the thing.
Doomfist? He’s incredibly powerful… if you know how to play him well. Key word there being ‘if’ because if you don’t know how to play him, you will feel weak, and you will die over and over and over again.
The majority of the people calling for Doomfist buffs? They’re not master Doom players. They’re casuals who feel the hero is underpowered because he’s a difficult tank to pick up and play properly. So they’re asking for buffs. Meanwhile master Doomfist players are wrecking people left and right, because in the right hands Doomfist is an absolute machine.
… well… I can’t play him for beans. OK?
… no need to rub it in.
No one says that aside from doom players.
Same with genji.
This sentiment goes the other direction as well. Top tier players can make wrong calls as well as metal rank players.
I’ll still point to Kiriko in Season 2 after her 3rd round nerf. People thought she was amazing with high pick rate in Master+, then Blizzard showed she had a 70% pick rate and an abysmal 45% WR in master+ borderline throwing even for top end players who had had an entire two 2 seasons to git gud still couldn’t make her work.
Proceed to see the decline of Kiriko from top 500 for the next 6 seasons until Season 8 where Mauga is finally a meta where she helps counter Ana. Along with various buffs to her throughout that time.
Blizzard is not doing many of us any favors by hiding data and metrics from the public to see. It just sprouts anecdotal reports and wild theories at all levels of play. The whole reason Orisa got a buff. Everyone was like, “omg, Orisa no fall off?!”, then Alec is like Orisa is the worst performing tank.
Here we are like end season from mid-season patch and Orisa is like… a non-issue. The early reactions to Orisa were pretty out of place. Player perception is terrible and the bandwagon effect is pretty bad too.
go play him and reach GM
im not a doom player, hes weak. boom your whole argument has been disproved.
Any Doomfist main that thinks Doomfist is weak currently isn’t a good Doomfist.
I get having complaints about the direction or play style of the character- but he’s a solid pick.
Doom’s good imo, but I don’t agree with the idea that he’s not hard to pick up. Let’s be real: if you think your tank is bad, you are not going to ask them to switch to Doom for easy value.
even tho i never played doom or dislike him if i see one that wrecks the lobby i think this is pretty neat, but yea most of the time its a doom in quick play who is learning and gets wrecked or is wrecked against my sombra… poor guy.
the dooms that win against me as sombra most of the time is a whole team diff or that rare doom thats comes out of nowhere and plays him like some jedi master.
i think that its cool there is a hero like that, high skill curve that rewards you for hard work. i would say widow is similar but i really think doom is way harder
