Doomfist is intensely boring and frustrating

He’s really really boring.

Like I don’t wanna be walking in the middle of my team and then suddenly be forced up into the air, completely unable to move and seeing that bald bumhole charging at me.

ALL of his abilities basically stun (I know only one technically stuns but when the others literally prevent you from moving and completely disoritentate you there’s barely any difference) and leave you with no fighting chance.

I get it, he’s not easy, he’s buggy, whatever, fine.
But that doesn’t excuse him being so fundamentally poorly designed.

He’s a hero that guarantees you free easy one-shot kills with many boring CC abilities while also being a hero that basically requires you to kill yourself to do this.

Mercy was reworked for being “unfun”, so the same can apply to Doomfist, no?

He is if you fortify in his face and get him back with a halt, its like stoping and freight train and look into drivers eyes as he trying to understand how its even possible and slowly acknoleging he dosent have anything else against you.

but but but, Doomfist is one punch man. He’s a playable meme!

So because Orisa exists everyone else should have to put up with it?

And what if fortify is on cooldown? DF has 3 CC abilities all on shorter cooldowns than fortify.

Bye.

And for the heroes that don’t have any abilities to avoid it?

They should just constantly die without even having the chance to fight? What other ability is even like that?

Just because some heroes can escape it, doesn’t mean it’s fair and fun. Those that can’t shouldn’t have to just put up with dying over and over again to a hero that is present in almost every game lately.

Don’t play them.

“Waaaaaaaahhhh the enemy Pharah kills me but I’m a Junkrat onetrick and I don’t want to switch ever waaaaaaaaaahhhhh”

That’s the same.

Well save it for such a moment, it`s have a high CD for a reason and 4 sec is more than enough to fill his watermelon sized head with tons of bullets trust me he hates constant damage and a good tracking…

[/quote] well duh, she basicly was build to transform his life into a living nightmare, and as i remeber i was able to do it even a year ago before she got buffet and while DF was still in his prime OP state that gave every support a twiching eye and paranoya.

Then do it, but deal with the consequences.

No. It’s completely unfair.
Try it yourself. Try playing one of the heroes without a means of escape against this boring broken combo. I guarantee you’ll want to quit.

Blizz have designed a hero that is entirely focused on CC (an already frustrating mechanic) and then given him a one-shot on top of that. It’s a joke.

Uhm, no? I play against Doomfist anytime and I’ve never got tilted because of him.
Not everyone has the same reaction as yours.

He has the most interesting CC abilites in the game by far what are you talking about

Only if we make Doomfist that OP again like Mercy after the rework then only then i would agree with you.

So who is your “favorite hero” that is simply unplayable against Doomfist?

Is it perhaps widow? Mercy? Sym? Genji? Hanzo? Moira? Hog?

I can understand if it’s rein, or zen. But you seem to already play them rather sparingly by comparison to the others that are largely unaffected by doom.

From the DF perspective, yeah. For those on the receiving end, good luck even fighting back.

How would that solve anything? The Mercy rework was terrible. My point was that Blizz’s reason for reworking her was that she was “unfun to play against and disheartening”. I find playing against Doomfist terribly soul-suckingly disheartening. Like immensely boring and repetitive, so according to their logic he should be reworked too.

Good counter-argument. Perhaps provide something to prove it wrong?

You’re going off my QP hours, so it’s hardly accurate.
For your information, I play a lot of Rein in competitive, so he is one.
Sym is also the other. She’s my long time favourite hero and has been completely neglected and shafted by Blizzard’s terrible choices.

I looked at your comp too, hence why I mentioned rein.

Also understand profiles aren’t indicative of favorite hero.

Was asking simply because if people know specifically what hero you’re having difficulty with, they may be able to provide some helpful advice.

Edit: yeah I can see why one would argue sym was ruined, but at the same time, doom is avoidable as sym by using TP or strategically placing turrets to slow him down with great effect.

Rein, well it’s just a simple hard counter. Gotta depend on the team and comms. But at least twin is in meta these days

Overwatch is all about counterpicks. If Doomfist is giving you a hard time then swap. It’s that easy.

From all your posts here you refuse to believe that:

  1. Counters exist in this game
  2. You need to swap to not be countered

Swap.

Yeah that works.

I have no problem avoiding Meteor Strike with TP, but uppercut and seismic slam both force you out of TP’s range and you can’t use it. :man_shrugging:
