So what’s the deal with the invincibility frames that doomfist gets when he uppercuts? As a Hog, I’ll hook him, shoot, and do no damage because hes beginning the uppercut animation. I sure hope to hell this isn’t intentional, cause it absolutely makes him impossible to counter with combos.

i thought i was crazy with this, but i feel like it effects projectile heroes the most? i’m not even positive if he has them, or if it’s a latency thing.
Probably because of the jerky animation that undergoes during the move. His head hitbox is probably blocked by his doomfist or something.
u never seen this? idk why people think its not a thing. its been a thing since hes been out. hes basically CC immune during moves too. (can punch through hog ult.)
(can punch get stun but punch still goes through and kills)
hes base on fight characters and its a common thing in fighting games.
To my knowledge he has none.
But can you imagine the flashy ult dodges? Uppercutting through a dva bomb and the likes
I-frames seem less likely than weird hitbox bugginess mid-animation.
likely chance is it being a latency issue, which, honestly i’m jealous of because of how often i die during my dash : (
beyond that, i know for a FACT that it isn’t complete invulnerability. he’s still prone to die to hitscan, splash, so on. my gripe is how frequently he seems to dodge projectiles with uppercut, namely. it may be due to how damn slow shurikens are though.
Doomfist can be and regularly is CCed during any of his moves
Slam especially.
But you can RP into a Mccree flash bang and be stopped mid RP, can definitely be snagged out of uppercut, etc.

I’ve seen latency cause issues- but that’s a different matter.
Doomfist has no I frames during his abilities, despite it being a fighting game thing.
then we have different experiances cuz everything u just said i never seen. (i didnt mean slam tho so sorry bout that.) ive only seen him get CC before or after the interaction. never mid.
i seen other doomfist abuse this. ive abused it. i got abused by it. i see it happen at least once a game.

But yeah, no you can stun him out of just about every move. It’s specifically his uppercut and attacks at the very beginning of it. Maybe it is latency based, but it seems too consistent for it to be latency.
I mean its so far as i’ve adapted my playstyle to wait a second till the doom uppercuts.

Because I see these abilities get blocked and interrupted basically every game.
Why can he be slept in mid air and respond by hitting Q and landing on you?
Why when he hits Q and lands, do you have to wait for moment before you sleep him because he’s invulnerable for a moment?
No clue… I sort of hate the character at this point.
I feel as if double shield meta exists to always give him a spot to easily go hide in.
so u seen doom get frozen mid punch?? u seen hog push him back during punch? u seen a hog hook not break when he’s punching? it’s always after or during the charge. not mid. ive never seen a doom get slept at the start frame of uppercut. it’s always after the damage is done.
I know what you’re talking about and experience it on Ana. Someone above was correct and it mostly affects projectile heroes. What I think is happening is you try to hook/sleep right before the uppercut, but the uppercut displaced both of you, and as a result the hook/dart is left below you both.
Yes, you have to wait till the colored shader goes back to normal and its very hard to tell.

I see where you’re going, but I’ve definitely gotten hit markers during this sequence with no damage.
If you’re talking about shooting him, your damage was probably equalized by his shields. If you mean the hook, I mean hook has been buggy with breaking forever.
You have no chance of getting it because you’re essentially aiming it at the ground. If you aim slightly upwards you’ll likely land the CC, but you could also just wait for the uppercut and then do it. He’s extremely easy to sleep during uppercut in particular because you’re both stuck in the air.
