Doomfist doesn't have hard counters

Doomfists run wild in comp and truthfully they don’t have any hard counters. FitzyHere and Ragtagg (Sombra and Orisa mains respectively) have both stated that they can’t do much about Doomfist despite maining two of his “counters.”

Why? It’s simple. Doomfist’s TTK (time to kill) is so fast that even heroes that “counter” him can’t prevent their backlines from being destroyed. So what makes each of Doomfist’s counters fail individually? Let’s take a look.

Sombra- Fantastic at killing Doomfist, however, they’re both backline flankers, so they rarely even run into eachother normally. You’d have to run Sombra on your frontlines as a Doomfist bodyguard to “counter” him, which requires playing Sombra so sub-optimally that you’d get more value with a Soldier or McCree.

McCree/Brigitte- The stun can be annoying to Doomfist but with his 250 HP and shield passive, neither hero can kill him even if they manage to land the stun. Quite often, trying to stun the Doomfist just ends up getting you killed because you put yourself in range of all his abilities and combos.

Orisa- Can bully the Doomfist with Halt and ignore his combos. However, she can’t kill him fast enough to save a Support if he dives them.

Pharah- Technically, Pharah counters half the roster. But if you compare Doomfist to Tracer/Genji you’ll realize pretty quickly that the high mobility flankers can avoid her damage pretty easily and although they’re not a threat to Pharah, she’s not a threat to them either.

Reaper- Doomfist can stunlock kill a Reaper, but if Reaper baits the abilities with Wraith, Doomfist’s hitbox is a massive target for his shotguns, so it’s an even match.

Right now there’s not much answer to a rampaging Doomfist except praying that your Supports can out position him or use mobility to get away. Hopefully, Hero 29 is a CC counter so Doomfists can be put in check, because I’m tired of watching Doomfist POTGs where it doesn’t seem like there was any counterplay in sight as my Supports got solo ulted or stunlocked

First junk did not have counter, now he is gutted, suddenly its df. Ya all only want tracer/genji as viable dps.

the entire post? Reaper can definitely take on Doomfist, Sombra ruins his life. Pharah is definitely a hard counter. Doomfist can’t even touch her.

OP is speaking on experiences, not fact. Doomfist hardness counters supports, he’s designed to, but he can easily be focused down by a competent team.

His counter is my attraction to him

He’s hot

The same people who hate Doomfist hate Genji and Tracer. They’re pretty anti DPS overall, the only viable DPS allowed here is clearly Zenyatta and Brigitte

Liking for the laugh while I’m in Algebra

Roadhog and Brigitte can shut him down pretty hard

I have the same problem with him as I do Brigitte. I find playing against him SO freaking frustrating that it’s hard to form an honest opinion about where he is balance-wise. I have been killed by so many rocket punches that weren’t even intended for me…

That said, If I do want to counter him, I do it with Sym. Make sure I have turrets in a few directions and a teleporter up. If he gets in the carwash he has to escape quick, if he’s gonna punch me, I teleport. Works often.

Anyways, while they don’t necessarily win the 1v1, I’ve been reasonably effective at peeling for Doomfist with D.Va, Zarya, and to a lesser extent orisa. I’d imagine theoretically hog could peel a Doomfist if he can land the hook, too.

Nah he just likes being willingly wrong :joy:

Wrong. Sombra hack breaks by a light fart. I’m not sure how reaper counters DF, this man is extremely mobile and well reaper is… reaper.
Pharah is a counter till he meteors on top of a building or uses game mechanics to Rocket Jump extremely high and then can punch uppercut her.

i think his main problem is that he serves no purpose to the game just like the old symmetra doom has no goal to help make this game healthy, add to that the fact he has 1 shot ability on 4s CD.

I’d say Sombra is a counter, the issue is that she’s not really viable and DF can use all of his abilities to escape her hack.

If he uses all of his ablilities or his ultimate to kill a pharah, that’s good for your team as the fight on the ground is 6v5 (while he’s gone) and then he’s out of position,

Sombra can definitely hack a Doomfist, very consistently if she maintains LoS.

And Doomfist has to get close to your team to kill, and Reaper is very good at hitting Doomfist’s tank-like hitbox.

if he has the time, they aren’t on CD, and he can break LoS

Everywhere. Playing Sombra as a peel isnt subobtimally and it immediately stops Doom dives and makes the fight 5v6.

Pharah blows up the team before doomfist can if she has no pressure on her, which doomfist does not, ESPECIALLY if the enemy team runs Orisa and it forces doomfist to wait out fortify/grav.

But even then, Zayra Bubbles, Sleep Dart, Armor pack, Mercy Beam all stop a Doomfist dive kill unless he spends all his resorces, which he still may not get the kill if the dived target puts a little damage on him.
