If one hero, forces at least three enemies to swap to deal with them, they’re either a low ranked pub stomper (Pharah), a super high skill cap high ranked monster (Tracer), or their compleatly overpowered/problematic (doomfist)
When a hero forces 3 players to swap for them in any ranks, thats when its truely problematic, because otherwise its just a special situation
Is there an appreciable level of play that im unaware of where doomfist genuinely overcontributes to his teams chances of winning that someone can point me towards?
On public stats for the last few months, doomfist has a 50% win rate in gold/plat (Which represent over half of where the players exist on ladder) with 1-2% pick rate. His best stats are unsurprisingly in GM, where he climbs to a staggering 54% win rate, while still maintaining an under 2% pick rate.
I mean, feel free to argue doomfist is “frustrating”- but “overpowered”?
If he was weak, he wouldn’t be seeing so much play in OWL, and performing so well across the ladder and in GM(although I’ll fully admit his, and Reaper’s as well, enormous OWL pickrate this weekend is due in part to McCree and Mei being banned. Both because those two would eat up a lot of those picks as well as them both being good against Doom/Reaper).
He is range. His CD’s are minuscule, and can be cycled nearly non stop. His Ult is great for his kit.
He’s not broken, but I can understand Ana and Zen mains thinking such. He’s certainly not weak either.
This guy just gets rocked by Doomfist without learning how to counter him. Then he comes here to complain about it, in a vain attempt to get the character nerfed, so he can continue to play in the exact unchanging way that he wants to play.
Only 4 DPS are viable: Doom, Mccree, Hanzo, Widow.
If you pick Doom and mirror him to try to force the game into a 4v4, that’s a gamble.
If you pick a sniper, you’re often susceptible to him, and also a gamble.
If you pick Mccree, you can easily shut him down if he isn’t really gud.
Now you have a Mccree and he’s forced to swap after dying.
He probably won’t challenge your Mccree, meaning he’ll likely swap to Widow.
Now because they have a Widow, one of your DPS must swap to Widow.
Barring edge cases, no matter how this plays out, a mirror will almost always be forced and all we’ve done by forcing him to swap is trade one cancer with a different cancer that triggers more cancer.
Try learning Sombra, since according to this forum she’s an easy no skill insta win pick who keeps the enemy team from moving, shooting and respawning anyways.
Yeah, both sides adapt. But because these 4 (3 in particular) heroes are so insanely broken, and all about instakilling, they’re effectively interchangable. There almost isn’t even a point in trying to counter Doom in the first place, because a different brand of extremely similar BS will just replace him, which again, goes unchecked until countered.
You don’t get anywhere by countering them. Countered DPS just cycle through these 3-4 until they both think they can outmirror the other. And the one that does, carries their entire team.
