Doomfist Changes

I got to play The Fist for the first time since the changes and honestly, I loved it. I can finally clean up on all the chunk damage with his new spread. He won’t ever be easy to play and that’s how it should be. Not just anyone can put on the gauntlet. But I was surprises how much of a difference these changes made and will be using him more. Also, apologies for being so optimistic and excited about Doomfist. I know that’s not what the forums are for.

Fair warning, though - don’t get your hopes up too high, 'cause he’s still probably not going to be seen as meta, and your team is probably gonna grief you over it. :frowning:

Have you played Doomfist much?

yes. plenty I like the hero, but don’t agree with the changes he have been reciving . is not fufilling the hero fantazy .

Doomfist is still going to be bad this META mostly because of Sombra Buffs

That’s why they’re fantasies. I can fantasize about him having 350 health or better shields or shorter dropdowns but reliable consistent damage between abilities at least seemed to help MY game

I mean yeah, his handcannon is reliable for what it should be for, adding damage to ability combos and good for finishing survivors off, but it’s not going to fix how 50/50 his bugs make his success rate.

He needs to be OK, but not good because playing the underdog feels exciting, and if everyone starts using him that will be lame.

As a longstanding Doomfist addict…speaking to his playability.

I need to start with he needs bug fixes…yes Devs, I saw…early April for the real fixes.

But d*** does he feel good right now…like…really really useful. I was super skeptical but he does seem to have the McCree “tipping point” on him where the most minor buffs can make him OP…and honestly, he feels a little too strong to me.

Now…were the gun changes huge? No, but consistency does a heck of a lot for his combos and I for one think I was wrong when I said these were pointless buffs. The ammo recharge buff also basically means the knuckles gain like 19% more dps…it’s definitely potent.

by hero fantasy I mean I don’t feel powerful (or useful) when I use him. like you feel annoying when playing junkrat or mei. or feel powerful playing roadhog or reinhart .

The point in time where Doomfist starts relying on his RP more than his hand cannon for damage is when I feel like he’s in a better place.

If RP was primarily meant to be a mobility above damage ability, there would be no reason for the devs to give it wall crashing damage, would there?

He gets it every 4 seconds. It can be used for both

That’s not answering the question, why do you disagree? I get it that it can be used for both no question, but why would you not rely on it’s damage potential if given the opportunity? It can deal massive damage and theoretically, it should be able to hit it’s path. If it’s hitbox was proper and consistent, I guarantee you RP would be reserved when close to combat for its killing potential.
