Doom still sucks btw

I understand people’s frustrations with the hero (some of them rightfully so), but saying he would be overpowered (or is currently) is a stretch. A big stretch. His surplus of counters in every role, and the fact that his counters keep constantly getting buffed makes it so regardless of how they buff him (within reason obviously) he’ll still be mediocre until they’re addressed.

Now does Doom need huge buffs? No. His counters should almost ALL be toned down.

Not to mention that if you’re playing cowboy, FtH even without stun is still really strong if he uppercuts you. He puts you in a very ideal position to burst Doom down.

And before, the option was to potentially wait till he empties most of his clip. Now you also have to consider whether or not he has roll.

It’s entirely possible to kill Cole as Doomfist. But the effort is tremendously higher for Doomfist than it is for Cole in that 1v1.

Are you surprised? Who cares about any heroes besides hitscans anyway?

Slam ground + uppercut and whatever comes after it, is really a 2 second motion, where handgun is slightly faster than fist.

2 seconds is more than enough for ANY one to stop it. Especially seeing how loud and obvious his sound q’s.

From the first click of the button of slam, all the way to the last shotgun shot. It’s just not fast compared to 90% of the other things in this game.

Really hope your doomfist gets buffed. I just lurk nowadays and the patches just get worse and worse by the day. It’s kinda funny how the balance just keeps getting worse and worse and the blatant balance favoritism towards McCree is getting ridiculous.

The only way to balance him is by power creep/keeping CC in the game. If he gets stunned or frozen for even a second he becomes much easier to deal with. Frankly removing CC is one of the worst mistakes the devs can make and goes a long way to making the game more flat and boring.

Except you wouldn’t have to do any of that because every buff I suggested doesn’t

  1. make him smaller
  2. make him faster
  3. make him at all harder to hit

So all the CC that affects and hard stomps him now… would still happen… doom is genuinely one of the easiest heroes to counter in this game. So power creeping CC just wouldn’t need to happen.

As someone who believes doom sucks and hitscans are broken, Id love to objectively breakdown the buffs u suggested.

I dont think its needed. His passive is what I think is his best thing rn, and in a rather good spot.

A great QoL that adds to doom’s animation cancel tech, while not being broken or anything.

Im generally against stuff that make it easier, Id love to see it go the route of fire rate tbh. I think doom requires good aim to output actual damage and not just tech, and even when he lands massive amount of pellets he still gets easily outhealed. So Id like to see him do MORE damage, without increasing damage, therefore Id increase firerate so he has higher dps than a mercy can just heal on her ana with.

His most needed change. Rather than buffing it numerically, go all in on it’s current use which isnt that unhealthy for doom players, and make it a fun to use quickly generated ult that allows a quick aggro assassination and a getaway tool.

I think doom with these I chose of those would be in great spot once hitscans get nerfed. He’ll never be good without being broken, unless the broken ones stop being broken themselves as they hardcounter him.

He explodes pretty much anytime he goes in. He’s still the only hero in the game to average double digit deaths. That’s beyond insane and shows how little tankiness he has, compared to how much risk it takes to play him and how up close and personal you have to be.

I’d argue that a tighter spread really makes it HARDER and will require more skill. Less spread = More precise aim needed. I’d say this is better for making doom do “more damage” compared to his fire rate. The issue with doom’s primary IS the spread because the rng pellets are so jarring and no reg half the time, that tightening that would mean you get less of that RNG spectacle, and if you can aim (which you would need to do more of now) you will be better off.

Well I believe him exploding is largely due to the insane burst creep and how free most ranged dps are, with how much cc and escape tools they got. I do believe he’ll be fine with 30 once the rest arent overtuned.

As for spread vs fire rate, its debatable which will benefit him more.

That gets a Dwane The Rock Johnson eyebrow raise from me
