Doom Needs a Buff

Honestly I think all her really needs is like 50 shield added to his total health and he would be much better. I can easily get kills as a masters doom. I can definitely hold down the front line. What I can’t do is compete with other tanks who have far more survivability from not only their total health, but also their abilities. Fake sigma for example. He has more total health then doomfist, some of which is shield, yet he gets ot have a shield and flux witch are both mitigating abilities. Doomfist just needs a little more health and I think he’d be in a much better place

I’d love to hear your opinions on how to make doomfist better, but not broken. I think the number one thing he needs is slightly more survivability

I think his block needs to be resistant to sleep and hook.CC in general.

Doom needs to go back to dps with a damage nerf to his entire kit.

I just don’t ever see that being a viable option since his entire kit revolves around using CC

No. Not going to happen. For a hero based on CC and super high mobility, that’d be too much.

Doom isn’t designed to deal with tanks. He’s designed to deal with the enemy backline (Support in particular) and flankers.

Doom’s got CC and two free getaway cards as well.

Buff his health and he’ll be unstoppable. This game isn’t all about getting the most kills, or having that one tank hero that no one can counter. It’s a teambased game.

If we change each hero to be similar to each other, then all we’ll end up with is just another run & gun CoD clone with cartoon graphics where none of the heroes feel unique. I for one do not want that.

I really do wish people would learn a bit more about each hero, though, and what usage they’re designed for, before requesting nerfs/buffs on this forum…

That’s fine, with less damage the cc isn’t as impactful, he still has loads of counters and other heroes that aren’t tanks also have hard cc and displacement cc.
Or you could just tone down the cc on rocket punch.

Doomfist and ball and to a certain extent Winston suffer at lower elos bc your team will not move with you.

People love to clump together at certain ranks.

When you do have a team that will move with you.

Doomfist is one of the strongest hero’s in the game.

You couldn’t pay a gold Kiriko to swift step to your Winston bubbles while you dive on monkey…

It’s rare to find a zen or Ana to pocket you on doom either as you fly across the level.

I feel that Doom is in a bit of a weird spot. He’s great if he’s not overly focused and then just runs rampant throuh the enemy team worse than any other tank.

If the enemy team is focused or exhibiting the phenomenon called “Teamwork” then Doom has no room to get away with his shenanigans.

Doom should definitely not one-shot. Want to get that out there immediately. We’ve literally just gone through this with Roahog. It’s not healthy.

His block is a bit odd. While it’s annoying if he can just be broken out with CC, it also kinda helps that he can. He blocks a ton of damage and sometimes stunning him out of it is the only way to break that shell.

I wish block would mitigate damage from sticky nades (cass, echo, etc) if they stick to his front while blocking, and I still feel nerfing back to 100 for block versus 90 was too much

But I really wouldn’t touch doom outside of that.

Nerfing hog and orisa have put him in a better spot. He’s a fairly solid hero. He’s good, but difficult to use- which for what his kit can do, I think is a good state overall. Doom should never be “strong” overall outside of the players that 1 trick him.

im also a masters doom and i personally would want them revert the block change because blocking a junk nade should give me impowered imo.

Ehh doom is pretty decent right now. Buffs would make him too strong and then he’d get nerfed to worse than now.

The only reason we say he is decent is because he is all we play. He could use a slight revert to the previous nerfs and he would be fine for a long time.

Raising the shield threshold for Empowered Punch was definitely bad, but I hate that they cut down the wall splat stun on it too. Sometimes it’s not enough to finish someone off when they are a little too far away, especially for the risk involved in fully charging up a punch.

Does the Rocket Punch victim deal/recieve damage per enemy they collide with?

That might be one place to start. Maybe extending the radius/leap distance of slam or reducing its cooldown is another. He’s supposed to be hard to kill because of his mobility coupled with his passive.

Or we keep him as a Tank, but Buff his Damage?

Doomfist really does need to go back to being a damage hero, he just doesn’t work as a tank (at least with his current kit). He just blocks for himself while his team gets shot since he cannot catch damage heading for his team.

For damage role Doomfist, I would remove all stuns from Rocket Punch, as well as the wall impact damage (because of it no longer stunning, enemies would be able to use abilities while being knocked back).

Then, they can buff his punch impact damage to 140 or so & up the charge rate of his punch so it’s more snappy, as well as replace Power Block with Uppercut.

Dps doom was one of 2 things insanly broken or so weak it was sad, tank doom works better he justt needs a small buff to block

For Doomfist to work as a tank, especially in 1-2-2, he needs a barrier attached to his Gauntlet or something. His current kit is very selfish, just like current Hog & Ball, who also need a little rework. Orisa needs changed back to her OW1 kit and re-balanced to be able to move around more since she would be the only tank in 5v5.
