Yes we did, in masters and gm DF was always being picked. Guess you missed out on it.
As a doom main who has peaked top 500 a couple of times, id say yes these changes are enough.
i never understood the point of the doomfist ult nerf. Its an ultimate, why should it not get a kill, and the kill isnt free, there is plenty of ways for you to save an ana/zen that is being ulted. plus after doomfist lands, its very easy to get a quick cc ability in like hook,flashbang, or shield bash since brig can block the damage from meteor strike.
playing against good df players on ptr is annoying. thankfully they buffed soldier so any df that comes yolo flying into my backline is going to get insta shredded.
Yeah like widow is always picked, but doom has much easier counterplay ⦠teamplay

I think his ult can kinda work where it is now, but it would need some tweaks, so it feels good. Either of these two would be good to tinker with.
- Ult charge is the same as Tracerās
- Ult resets his abilities and they remove DF being stunned through the landing animation.
1st suggestion is because the ult feels about as useful/consistent as Tracerās Ult, but itās on a charge timer of Genjiās.
2nd suggestion is because itās on the charge timer of Genjiās ult, so make it actually something to fear even if the ult itself is not likely to kill anything. Itās terrifying that a Doomfist goes all in, Ults, and becomes a flanker.
Having him survive and drop ults faster is a better way, he is gonna be like mccree fast i reckon
Not even only in masters, basicialy if you was in plat, and someone with diamond rank was in match with plat players, a lot of time this diamond player picked doomfist at least where i played.
These buffs are enough my friend, all he needs now is ult buffed or reworked

This isnāt exactly true. You hear him and then you can bubble as zarya and bubble someone else, ice cube yourself as mei, armor yourself as orisaā¦i mean there are counters and heās attackable when he lands.
Since him getting the nerf hammer , he can use all the help he can get. Iād be down for an ult buff
His Ult shouldnāt be a free kill since its utility is also saving his butt while having a similar zoning effect to a rogue Rip-Tire.
What should be changed is his gun. I think his Ult should fully reload his gun AND his ammo should reload 0.1 second faster.
Another option is severely reworking how his gun works to get the point across that itās a last resort but also a good one if heās in melee range. So that means a lower fall-off threshold but more base damage, with perhaps less ammo but more ways to reload it (such as using his Ult or killing someone , as well as a slightly faster auto reload and slightly slower firing rate).
His ult should get buffed only if he loses invulnerability upon activating it.
yeah i agree with u on the 20m slam but the ult is a joke its so useless offensively u just now used it to escape, nothing else , they really need t tweak his ult
Slam and uppercut Cooldown should be reduced to 5 sec.
i like the first suggestion cause it takes some time to build up the ult for what it is so making it like tracers pulse bomb would make him more agile and easier to escape difficult situations , second suggestion i like the remove being stunned on the animation cause tahts pretty annoying but teh reset abilities taht may be too much anyway the first suggestion should really be considered

At his best- doom was picked about once every other game by a single team.
This was at GM, which literally represents 1% of the player population.
At lower ranks,(such as gold and plat, which together house about 3/5s of the entire player base) his pick rate at his best was about half of this.
Compared to other heroes like rein and Ana, who even at gold/plat- for the last 6 months have literally been in basically every game-
Often on both sides simultaneously- and you really start putting things into perspective.
Then thereās actual professional play- where Doomfist has basically always been a rarity.
Weāve never had a āDoomfist metaā.
We had a time where he was relevant in the environment created by the Meta. But ādoomfist Metaā?

People didnāt like Doomfist. I understand why and thatās ok.
But come on now.
As for the topic at hand.
Iād advise against buffing Doomfist for now.
MAYBE a nudge to his ults minimum damage (which can be as low as half a melee if I recall properly)
But I feel the changes to his cooldowns and slam working properly again finally will be substantial changes. Doomfist will probably be in a good spot for where most of the community exists/ but at a minimum we should see where the dust settles after these changes.
