Anniversary Volume 3 is coming very soon, bringing a bunch of re-colours and old event brawls back to our screens. Despite the complete lack of new content, though, players should really consider using this event to their advantage.
You see, the Anniversary Volume 3 could be the FINAL event of Overwatch 1. That’s right, the END of six years of content. Overwatch 1’s final hurrah. This could be your last chance to grab past event skins totally free of real money.
Overwatch 2 will change the monetisation system, and we have no clear indication of how this will work and what will happen to the skins available right now. We know the in-game currency and loot boxes are a thing of the past, so what does this mean for claiming these skins in OW2?
Don’t skip this event, because you might regret it massively come October 4th. Thank you and enjoy the finale of Overwatch1 <3

Just make sure your fave characters have everything you can grab on them, even those that are your side-mains with cosmetics that you wouldn’t want to miss out on haha

I predict it’s either going to be really low effort like the first 2 remix events… or they actually do something a bit more special beyond bad recolors and only 3 individual hero event skins. I think someone said the patch was about 100Mb more than the other 2 remix events, so this is promising for at least adding something else that’s new.

Completely agreed. People should get their favorite skin for every hero until you have to pay for them in OW2. We know that the credits will carry over but not what we can do with them there. So better stock up the skins and get ready for OW2.

I guarantee we don’t get a bunch of new content because that’s not what these events have been doing, but that’s just me trying not to get my hopes up. Just spreading awareness that it might be peoples’ last chance to get ANY skins in the game through traditional methods.

even tho im weary of the new free to play model i get the feeling blizzard/overwatch should have went to it sooner like 3 years ago when every successful online comp shooter was doing it lol… maybe we would have more content before that 3 year drought
or maybe something happened that put everything in limbo (jeff leaving and the decision to go 5v5 with an updated engine)

It’s definitely the right move imo. The new model is just clearly so much more profitable and long-term than the old one. I’m honestly not bothered too much about cosmetics really, I just wanna enjoy new content c:

Only missing sombra variation of black cat which I hate it, but after remix 2 ended, I hate the fact that I’m missing 1 cosmetic

Prioritize buying 1000 Credits skins, so the lootboxes only give you the more expensive 3000 ones

A great tip actually, will definitely remember this for the upcoming event. And yeah buy the skin, just so you have access to it. Like for example if you join a game and your team is like ‘let’s all wear this colour of skin to match’ (no one’s ever said this before in their lives) and you don’t have that specific skin… you’ll regret it.
Just don’t allow for any situation to arise where you don’t have a cosmetic you might want haha

You will need at least 9k to unlock the 3 new recolors, if they do recolors again. It would be cool if this event they had like a sale or something, make everything 50% off, 1500 would be a lot easier to grind out.

This is true. Could be your last chance to get some of these, so make sure to grind wisely.
I noticed that I don’t have Rime for Sombra, so I’ll grab that for the extremely unlikely event that I both want to play Sombra and I don’t want to use Demon Hunter. Apart from that I think I’ve done pretty well in terms of cosmetics.
I am so very grateful that skins carry over into OW2.

Glad I’m saving my coins for the one or two event-cosmetics I don’t have yet lol. Maybe there will be a few new ones, but not holding my breath

I imagine OW1 stuff will change to just costing coinage, and that coinage will be ontainable via missions and/or just playing matches/leveling up

Thank god I got another chance on getting the skins I missed on the volume 2 event I was devastated that the skins could be gone forever I screwed up on the last content of OW1 won’t do it again. LUL
This is possibly your LAST chance to grab these skins without having to dive deep into your wallet! Go get 'em on August 9th haha
