I think everyone can agree there is nothing more triggering than joining a game that’s already started, and that most of the time is already lost.
This has always been a problem, so now I am asking: Why did they never add an option to make in sort you won’t be put in a game that’s already started ?
After all they managed to add “fast queue” features that either don’t make it any faster or make the matchmaking even worse, that nobody ever really asked for in the first place, so why not add a feature that would benefit everyone (Mostly DPS players) and that would actually have a positive use ?

Quickplay will always be this way, don’t like it? Just play comp. quickplay is a troll mode, you cant expect to have a good time unless you are there to troll
I’m not playing Overwatch for the competitive, it does not have a point to play it anymore. That’s why I’m asking improvements to the only game mode left where you can actually have fun
I personally enjoy comp more, its basically how the game was meant to be played. I don’t play it for the competition, I play it for the skill matches and self improvement
It wouldn’t benefit everyone. It’s unlikely to even benefit anyone on average, but Damage players would suffer the most, due to the amount of wasted queue time.
You’re looking only at the negative half of the feature and ignoring its purpose. There’s almost always at least one player who leaves early in an unranked match, which would ruin the entire match if they weren’t replaced—and without backfill, they would never be replaced. Sometimes you’re the replacement for them, which is a relatively small price for access to 6v6 matches in general.
The problem with comp is that if someone leaves, it’s basically an automatic loss. And It happens to me so often I’ve just stopped playing it. Even if you get yourself a group, there’s a chance someone will rage quit. Not to mention, comp is where the most toxic players go. They want everything their way and if they don’t get it they cry on the mic. LITERALLY whine and cry like little babies. They make the game unbearable. Then they rage quit. Or throw. They just stand there pouting as if to say “If Ana won’t heal only me than the whole team will suffer.” “If I’m going to lose than it will be on purpose and don’t blame me for losing, blame Ana”
Alternatively there is QP and Arcade. But every single day, sometimes twice a day, I’m put into a game that ends before I can even pick a character. Which is fine… HOWEVER then that goes on my record as a loss. At least 100 of those losses are from entering already finished games. And I’m 200 losses away from having more losses than wins. I can’t endorse players who haven’t played enough of the match to register an impact. The game knows So why if I only played for 2 seconds of the match does a loss register?
Neck, it’s been 10 months. Drakko probably uninstalled the game 6 months ago.

When I backfill, I often see myself as the hero of the story, and that I’ve been specifically chosen to lead that team to victory.
I often reverse losing games when I backfill.
I occasionally lose backfill games.
Sometimes I get put into a game that is two seconds from ending.
Backfill is how I started to play Lucio and Ball because I had to get in the game quickly.
I’m okay with backfill, but I can see why some players don’t like it.
Sometimes it a shift in mentality is necessary because not every backfill is you being dumped into a losing battle.
