Don't Play Ashe! Low Ranks Meta Discussion

Hello!

My girlfriend loves Ashe! She even wants to make her her new main. But I think she’s not that great at low levels. What do you guys think?

We had a huge heated debate about it and we made a video out of it to share our opposite opinions. Feel free to check it out and tell us who is most likely to be right please!

Here’s what i think, I shot a slept mercy in the face 3 times while scoped as Ashe and none of my shots registered.

Why is she even allowed in comp right now if she can’t reliably shoot what she’s aimed at?

Dynamite is pretty easy to use even if you aren’t mechanically good. I’m sure you could perform decently if you knew what you were doing at lower levels.

But you guys are E-Sporters or at least on GM? Taking the word of a low rank people is a bit silly.

Yup some shots just do not register.

We are not GM, we are actually humble silver and gold players. It doesn’t mean that we can’t talk about the game though. We don’t coach people, we don’t give ‘pro tips’ or anything, we are just sharing our own experience. And that’s the whole point of our channel. Low Ranks Competitive Experience view by low ranks competitive players, so many famous channel videos are so unrelated to our experience at low ranks! So we wanted to talk to people like us, and always with self-criticism and self-mockery.

Also, it’s not because we are at low ranks that we don’t know enough about the game to talk about it I think. Overwatch ranks are mostly showing how much mechanical skills and muscle memory players have acquired. I can have the knowledge, in terms of game sense and positioning, and still not be able to use it properly because my aim is crap, my reflex are slow or my mind is not reacting on time.

I will give you an example why a low rank player can still coach another low rank or even a high level player: professional coaches in sports like Football for example, often successful coaches don’t have any high level playing experience (Arsene Wenger, Jose Mourinho, Arigo Sacchi, etc).

But, the main reason, why I think we can talk about Overwatch Competitive Games is because we know we are not good, we make mistakes all the time, and we have a lot to learn.

I wouldn’t play Ashe if I was min maxing but, you could do worse.

Ashe has an above average winrate when compared to the other hitscan dps.

Yeah, her gun might be hard to use but, the dynamite and Bob can clean up to a degree.

Ashe players also seem to have less deaths per match than many other DPS heros.

I can take opinions from any rank not problem but i only take balance changes from people 3500 + SR to be sure these people know what they are talking about and using the heros at top potential

Without watching the video, all I’ll say is:

Why can’t people play games to have fun anymore?

Yes, totally a million times more silly than thinking low ranks can play the same things as “E-Sporters or GM” players and make them work.

Literally titled Low rank meta discussion. But omfg iz not cgull so iz not relevant.

Like Luka said, what GM play and youtubers and streamers are talking about is very often not related to low ranks. High levels experience is so different from low ranks. No communication, no team play, no one shot widows or annoying Tracers, and it goes on… So their meta does not apply to low ranks. If you are Diamond or Master, it concerns you a bit more, but still not that much to be honest. But under Plat, it’s definetely not relevant. GM’s will tell you Ashe is amazing (providing the game lets you hit those targets haha) and the stats confirm that, but the stats also tell you that Ashe is not that great at low ranks. And it’s not because of a bug! So all we did is looking at the stats and tell people, be careful when playing Ashe or Ana, because even if they are ‘meta’, they are not that strong if you don’t have the skills to play them. We don’t say: they are trash! We say, make sure you can handle them properly before picking them. You want to win don’t you?

Doesn’t that apply to all precision hitscans? Widow, McCree etc.?

Lurka is offering something like this:

1.- Why a person needs to finish the university to give classes on a highschool/college? just get a random guy on the street to give the class preparatoin is not necessary.

2.- if i go a gym. I expect my trainer is a muscular dude or fitness girl. Imagine the trainer is a fatty dude with lots of knowedge i will not believe anything he said

3.- In OW is the same i would take the word of a 4500 SR coach instead of waste my time and money on a 500 SR bronze coach. Is not the same know the theory about some topic than applying in real time

I demand on my school have a teacher with the university career finished. I demand my personal trainer on the gym have a godly body and i demand my personal OW coach be on GM at least.

d.vas don’t there probably aren’t good enough to consistently eat dynamites, so they should be pretty free

If you are too sure of your words prove me you can climb up with ashe in a single stream 500 SR to 3500 then i will take any Tip you said

If you can’t escape from silver and come to tell me “Hey i know how play ash listen my tips” i will just roll my eyes

People can play any hero at any rank if they want, Ashe included. But if they aren’t good at the hero they definitely won’t climb and will lose plenty of games/SR that’s their choice tho. I’m in plat and I’m terrible at DPS but i still play it, why? Because that’s what i want to play. I’d rather play what i want and lose than play what I don’t want to play and win (tanks supports)

Even in lowest tiers possible she would be better pick than Reaper, junkrat or symmetra

If they can’t hit the side of a barn w/ her then they may be better off playing one of the 3 you listed tho
